The once proud and powerful family of Ostricia stands divided between the three children of the descendants of Emperor Garios IX, the last emperor of Valeria before the Great Collapse.

THE SOUTH:

In the southern lands of the former empire is the Southern Valerian Kingdom, ruled by Theodorus, the oldest of the three siblings.

He is not as cruel as his brother to the west and not as kind as his sister to the east.
In actuality, he is a cross between his two siblings, seeking for the Senate to continue its involvement in the Valerian political scene while also wanting to retain the authority his forefathers once held in the old imperial system that lasted for centuries in the old empire.

He gained power via barons and archons who pledged loyalty to him who had helped him secure the southern throne in hopes of creating a buffer state between the two factions in which they could become nobles again, but without having to deal with an autocratic emperor or a puppet empress, what was supposed to be just a rump state to keep the East and West at bay has flourished and almost prospered into a thriving kingdom.

Southern Valeria has accidentally became the richest of the three factions, for all the merchants fled to the south due to the sizable numbers of bandits and looters in the West and the increased taxation by the Senate in the East trying to obtain enough money to sustain an army to finish off its sister factions.

But even with all the positives it has, the kingdom still has two ambitious rulers to the East and West who seek to claim the mantle of Valeria, eager and awaiting the perfect time to strike. Will Theodorus be able to defend his flourishing kingdom from his siblings, or will his kingdom's reputation as a rump state come to fruition?
