Tessa and Miguel stood in the dojo, with Johnny in-front of them in complete awkward silence.

"...So am i gonna get the karate pajamas too?" Miguel said before quickly getting cut off

"QUIET! Student only speaks when spoken to is that understood?" Johnny gestured to both of the kids

"Yes."

Johnny shook his head at miguel.

"Yes, "sir"?" The boy asked

"Always address me as 'Sensei' is that understood?" Johnny told the boy

"Oh. Yes, Sensei."  Miguel responded.

"Tessy?" Johnny looked at his daughter and asked

"Yes, dad?" Tessa looked back up at her dad.

"Sensei."

"Dad."

"No, Sensei."

"Yes, dad."  Tessa said back, enjoying working up her father.

"In the dojo, I'm your Sensei, not your dad." Johnny said to her

"Whatever you say, dad."

"Y'know what- never mind... Anyways these aren't pajamas. This is a gi. And you both will get one when you've earned it. Alright are you both ready to begin your training?"

"Yeah, Sensei"

"Sure 'Sensei'" Tessa said in a mocking expression at the same time as Miguel.

Johnny unexpectedly threw Miguel on the ground as a gasp was heard from Tessa

"Lesson one, strike first. Never wait for the enemy to attack."

"You could have gave me, like, a warning." Miguel said as he stood up groaning

Tessa snorted at the situation trying to hold in her laugh by covering her face with her hands.

"QUIET! we do not train to be merciful here. Mercy is for the weak. Here on the street, in competition a man confronts you, he is the enemy."  Johnny was rambling.

Tessa was looking over in miguels direction giggling as he was huffing on his inhaler quite obnoxiously.

"An enemy deserves no mercy. What is the problem, Mr. Diaz?" Johnny finally ended his rant.

"Theres no problem, sensei. You... you punched me, and i have asthma, so.."

Johnny grabbed the boys inhaler and threw it across the room

"Not anymore. We do not allow weakness in this dojo. So you can leave your asthma and your peanut allergies and all that other made-up bullshit outside. Understood?"

"Uh, I'm allergic to peanuts?" Tessa raised her hand at her dad

"But those are real medical problems, i was..."
