Mansi

It's been one and half hour and there's no sign of a single human being here, in the library. I'm getting bored and the subject I have selecte to do is not helping too. I think everyone is preparing themselves for the upcoming tests. But if I try to think optimistically then it's good for me. So not thinking about it more I took out my earphones from my bag and started listening to music and concentrating on the subject because it involved calculation I had to listen to the music.

I got so invested in my studies that I completely forgot to keep an eye on the visitors and got out of my trance when someone knocked on my desk, to gain my attention. I looked up and saw a boy...utterly handsome boy, with black curly hair, wearing medical scrubs and holding a white coat in his left hand but, he's looking so annoyed and so irritated but, why? Oh sorry probably because of me coz I'm openly checking him out and maybe he could be calling me from the last 5-10-15 minutes and I was not answering him.

So, breaking out of my trance I said, "Sorry, I didn't notice How may I help you, Sir...?" to which he rudely replied," I've been waiting here for the last 20 minutes, isn't it your duty to help the visitors?" then without responding to his question I stood up from my place mumbling, "Yes, I know my duty very well..." and finally speaking a little loud so that he can hear, "Sorry sir I was so engrossed in my studies, I assure you this will never happen again. How can I help you please let me know." I smiled widely looking at him so he could melt a little and forget about this incident, but instead, I think he became well aware of my trick and looked everywhere but me with an uninterested look on his handsome face.

After some seconds he glared at me with a stoic expression and glanced at me from head to toe and then I found his gaze fixed at the name tag on my apron. I think he carefully read my name and said,

"Sure Miss Trivedi..." in a very arrogant tone.

To which I didn't say anything and just nodded assuring.

He then took out a paper chit from his white coat's pocket and handed me that, I then took it without any objection and went to the 'Medicine' department, to find the books listed in it.

After about half an hour, I returned to my desk, where he- the handsome doctor was standing before, but then found no one there. For a second I wondered whether it was my imagination or something. But then I was holding the list of books that he handed me some time ago. Then I thought maybe he would come later and placed those books on my nearby desk, which was currently empty as that person's shift had already ended and on the other hand I was on my shift.

Then I again started with my work and put on my earphones, the which was playing in it was 'Kajra Re' and oh my god the first thing that came to my mind was the dance me and Tara(Sitara) did in our dorm room, last Sunday as it was our cleaning day and on the other hand Ana(Anahira) and Kii(Keeva) were just enjoying the show and were recording us. So we dragged both of them with us and we all danced together. These little moments with my besties are like my energy booster, and so I decided to ask them to go to a club this weekend because it's the only time all the four of us are free and meet each other like whole 4 out 4 are present and rant about our whole week. On the other days, we see each other on campus and also in our dorm room but, you all know the workload of a student .

And after some 15 minutes later that handsome doctor guy came to my desk from the library itself, so this whole time he was present here itself? Omg, how can he be so quiet for this much time...Then again, what I've to do with it...

He now gave me other three books which belong to the romance and fiction genre...like really a guy like him, so rude, so arrogant, and apart from this a Doctor can read these books? And one of them was THE PIANO MAN PROJECT by Kat French which is one of my favorites and also the writer is British, so the book is quite famous here in the UK so but obviously, I've read it, in fact I've read them all (all the 3 he's holding). I think I just expressed my inner thoughts a bit loudly because the way he is eyeing me screams 'It's none of your business'. Then just one thing I could hear in mind 'Never judge a book by its cover', people can have their own choices. So simply minding my own business I said, "Library card?"

To which he replied by handing me his card which showed his name is- Ayansh Malhotra, Second-year MS in Orthopedic Surgery, Kingspire University, London. OH MY GOD!! He is a student and that too at the same uni, where I go. Then I scanned his card and started entering the book information of the books that I brought earlier, of the Medicine dept. When I asked for the books in his hands, he denied and said, "These books are for purchasing not for the issue." And not to forget his famous super stoic expression.

So I replied nodding in a yes and scanned those books to make a bill. After scanning I just took out a paper bag to put those books in it, but he again interrupted and asked me, "Can you just gift wrap it?"

And I replied "Sure, why not" with a soft smile

Let me tell you our library is a bookstore too, so keep all the gifting materials. Then I started gift wrapping the books then I spoke to myself "See I was correct there's no chance that a guy like him would read all these books."

After gift-wrapping the books, I handed them to him along with his library card and the bag containing Medicine dept. books.

He then exited the library. But I can still remember those brown eyes, black hair, medical apron, and the name so well, that if I see him from far away I would easily recognize him, without any doubt, to which my mind replied "But obviously because he is an Indian and there are not so many Indians in the medical department of our uni."

The rest of my shift went peacefully without any disturbances, and the day came to an end.
