Ayansh
It's Thursday today and as usual, my whole schedule is packed. I am currently living in London, UK while pursuing my MS in Orthopedic Surgery at Kingspire University. From childhood I wanted to become a doctor, it had been my dream and when you have supportive parents like mine then it's possible. My father Mr. Kailash Malhotra, is a businessman in India in fact, he's one of the richest businessmen back there and my mom Mrs. Anandi Kailash Malhotra, is a famous fashion designer and owns a fashion brand 'SAYIKA' which mainly focuses on Indian ethnic wear for both male and female. The name of the brand 'SARIKA' has been made after the name of us three siblings – Sahil(SA) my elder brother, Ayansh(AY), and Ishika(IKA). My elder brother Sahil Bhaiya is literally an ideal son he did Business Administration studies (CA and MBA) from IIM, Pune, and is now helping my father in growing a business abroad, on the other hand, my younger sister Ishika is currently a Law student in India and is planning to join the legal team of our company. My Siya Bhabhi is a fashion designer and works as the head designer in my mumma's brand. So directly or indirectly all of them are interrelated to each other and help each other, while I chose a different path for my career, which was to become a doctor and that to best doctor in India. But the path was never too easy, when I was in 12th standard I got good marks in boards as well as in NEET due to which I got admission to AIIMS, Delhi, and completed my MBBS there, after that I decided to pursue a Master of Surgery and chose London for that.
So here I am now in the second year of my Master's program. It's a really hard life here you've got to do studies, internships, and maintain academic grades, also you've no family here which means no emotional support.
But I'm lucky in that case because I've found myself a good company of friends. I've three best friends which makes us a squad of four guys. First of all, I've Parth he's the lead vocalist in our college's boy band. He is pursuing his Master's in Engineering but is more interested in singing as he always says engineering is his option B.
Then I've Yashith, who is a hire of Goyal Industries. It's a company based in India, and it is among the top 3 companies ruling India. Also, his dad is one of my dad's friends, they are in the same group of friends, so yes we know each other well. And here in London, we are strengthening our friendship. He's studying MBA here and has a plan to return India, and take over his dad's company. He's really ambitious about their business and has a very sharp mind too. But unlike me, he has an extroverted personality, but we bond well.
And at last, I have Shriyan who is a hockey player. He's half-British and half-Indian because his father is British but his mother belongs to Gujarat, India. He has really sweet parents, they call us at their home during all the festival celebrations which are celebrated in India as well as in the UK. They are our family here and whenever any of us is sick, they come here to meet us and also make us feel at home. Shriyan, himself is a sweet guy too who understands all of us and despite of being a star hockey player remains so down to earth.
Here at Kingspire University all four of us share a dorm suite which might the major reason for our friendship. We have become such close friends today that whenever anyone faces some problem we all try to solve it like it's our own.
As I completed my morning classes for the day, I went to the university café, for lunch and then to the hospital for my internship, where we had to work as medical residents. After a successful surgery I was sitting on my desk and was going through my phone then I saw a notification that was a reminder to buy the books that my lovely little sister demanded this time. She does this whenever there is a book launch, someone recommends a book, reads a book review, or watches some bookstagram posts. She's into this book-lovers community, her friends are the same too. So she just orders me to send the books there in India, because sometimes books are launched here earlier and she gets those different versions of books too. Also, I can never deny her because she always wins the argument and my parents supports her too(after all she's the future lawyer).
And, there's an assignment submission on Monday so I need some reference books from the library too so, I just made the list of the books required for the assignment and informed my colleague that I'll be back and in case of any emergency give a call to me immediately.
