Ayansh:
Seeing her again in the deep thoughts I cleared my throat and softly said, "You've to order. And it should be today itself." Trying to lift up the mood.
She nodded looking down at the menu and asked me, "Have you tried Gujarati dishes?"
How could I have tried it? We are Punjabi's. And I've heard that all the Gujaratis like sweet food. I've even heard that all their food is sweet even the dal. I mean I don't like sweet food and we prefer spice over sugar. But how should I tell her I haven't tried and am not planning to, like ever...
So to her reply I just shook my head negatively.
And she asked again, "Why?"
I replied, "Never felt the need."
To which she murmured something in low voice and I couldn't understand.
And she spoke,"Than let me order and we both will share."
I called the waiter and he took the order. Then we went to wash our hands and returned to the seats.
The order came, she said thank you to the waiter, he smiled at her and returned to the reception.
She took out her phone and clicked the pictures of food. Girls and their obsession with pictures...
I can see two big plates containing a bowl of curry- garnished with sev and spring onion, a small bowl of red curry, three buns, sev, chopped onion and slices of lemon. Back in Mumbai we never ate street food but Ishika used to eat Misal pav with her friends she used to show me pictures, it looks like that but a little different.
(Sev usal)
I can see another plate of... I don't know what. But it looks good, appetizing.
(Patra)
There's another dish of yellow coloured rolls. Oh now that's something really different. And it's garnished too. I would love to try this.
