Rogue felt like he was walking on eggshells. You and Sting weren't talking to each other after the day was over. And everything seemed to be going so well, he wasn't sure what was going on. But all he knew was that the silence at dinner was uncomfortable. Even the exceeds could feel it.
"Uhm.. Frosch! Have you seen any frogs recently?" Lola asked, but Frosch shook his head.
"Nope, Fro hasn't seen any!"
"Aw c'mon Frosch, you're usually always finding little critters!" Lector shouted.
"Hmmm... nope! Not that Fro can remember!"
The conversation died off, as cute as it was. The uncomfortable silence loomed over everyone like a dark cloud.
"Alright. I'm just gonna say it." Rogue said, laying his hands flat on the table, prepared for whatever storm was about to unleash on him. "What's going on between the two of you?"
You looked at Rogue for a few seconds, and then back down to your food, where you proceeded to poke it with the fork, and not actually eat it. As for Sting, he didn't pay any mind to his friend, but continued to eat.
"Not talking, huh?" Rogue sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "You both are ridiculous."
"I'm sorry." You answered Rogue quickly. "I was raised by Gwendolyn. And she always told me to think before I speak. I'm just thinking, is all."
"And I assume Sting is being childish and is just ignoring you?" Rogue asked. Sting glared at him, but returned to eating.
"Our feelings of jealousy are just... a bit much right now." You sighed, still poking your food. "We're trying to find a way to direct our feelings elsewhere."
Sting noticed you poking your food, and let out a bit of an annoyed sigh. "You need to eat."
"Don't tell me what to do." You shot at him instantly.
"We may be mad at each other, but I still care, dammit. Eat your food before I have to start feeding it you." He threatened. You glared at him, narrowing your eyes. Your eyebrows knitted together, as you kept poking your food, not breaking eye contact. Rogue would look at Sting, curious at what his reaction would be. Sting would have his eyes narrowed at you, watching as you poked your food with the fork. After a few more seconds of you just poking your food and testing Sting's patience, he snatched your fork away from you, scooped up a fork full of food, and held it to your mouth.
You closed your mouth and kept it shut. Sting let out a sigh, and still kept it by your mouth, waiting for you to break. "I can wait here all night." He said.
You didn't budge.
"Y/n, I agree with Sting on this one. You need to eat." Rogue told you, but you refused.
Sting gritted his teeth as he started to look more and more annoyed. "You couldn't get you to shut your mouth earlier, and now when I need you to eat you're going to refuse?"
"What's that supposed to mean?!" You yelled, your mouth slightly agape from the shock of where Sting had found the audacity. But that was exactly Sting's plan, and when your mouth was open, he shoved the food in.
"There. Now chew and swallow." He instructed you. You glared at him as you started to chew, and swallowed the food slowly. "There, now was that so hard?"
You narrowed your eyes at him, giving him a death glare. He remained unfazed, while Rogue became even more uncomfortable.
"Okay, guys, you both seriously need to talk out what the hell is happening between the two of you." Rogue said firmly. "Dinner can wait, but we need to solve... this."
