"You should get a rabbit."

"No."

"Why not?"

"Because those things are messy."

"Then get a little one."

"I'd rather not."

"Shubman!" Ishan whined as his boyfriend got off the bed and pulled on a pair of boxers. "Please."

Shubman shook his head as he styled his spiked hair, running his fingers through it to make sure it was just right.

"The last time I had a rabbit, Sara chased it around the apartment, and it was like a scene from a comedy movie. The poor thing knocked everything over."

Ishan glared at Sara, who was lounging on the carpet, her eyes half-closed in contentment.

"You’re always ruining things for me."

Sara continued to bask in the sun, utterly unbothered by Ishan’s frustration.

"Why do you want a rabbit so badly, anyway?" Shubman asked, his eyes lingering appreciatively over Ishan’s nude form.

Ishan’s gaze fell to the sheets as he spoke softly.

"Because... I never had one. My mom was never interested in pets, so we never had any."

Shubman’s expression softened. "Ishan..."

Ishan’s black, soft hair framed his face as he looked up at Shubman, his eyes shining with hope. He knew he had won from the tone in Shubman’s voice.

"So maybe we can pick one out after breakfast?"

Shubman sighed, "Sure."

He could never deny Ishan anything. He had grown up with pets and a garden full of plants, and knowing that Ishan had missed out on those experiences tugged at his heart.

Ishan sprang up and pressed his entire naked form against Shubman, kissing him eagerly. "You’re the best."

"I spoil you too much," Shubman muttered.

Ishan shrugged with a playful grin. "Hey, all I did was ask." He grabbed a pair of Shubman’s gym shorts and pulled them on. "Come on, time for breakfast."

As they made their way to the kitchen, Sara decided to make her presence known by darting after an imaginary mouse, sending a few items crashing to the floor. Shubman glanced at Ishan with a smirk. "Maybe we should get a pet mouse instead."

Ishan laughed, "And what? Watch Sara kill it? No thanks."

"We should've gotten the baby."

"I was not buying a baby rabbit, Ishan."

"But it looked so cute," Ishan insisted as he adjusted a red bow on the rabbit's collar.

Shub ignored him and looked for the package of treats, only to find that Sara had gotten to it. Half of the treats were scattered across the floor, and the cat was happily rolling around in them.

"Sara!"

The cat jumped up, startled by the sudden command.

"What are you doing? Get out of the treats."

Sara seemed to understand she was in trouble and sauntered over to Shubman, meowing innocently.

"No, Sara. Naughty kitty." Shubman stood with his hands on his hips, frowning at the cat.

"Aww, don't yell at her, Shubman. She's just in the rabbit’s spirit."
Ishan knelt beside the confused cat, carefully picking up the scattered treats.
