008. 𝘴𝘭𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘵 𝘫𝘦𝘴𝘴'

JESSICA WAS QUICK TO MAKE A THREE-WAY CALL BETWEEN HERSELF AND ANGELA AND NELLIE. 

Her and Mike had had a moment the other day and the moment all three of them were free to hang out, she needed her girls to be there with her. Nellie smiled as the girl ranted into the phone as she rolled her eyes.

"Jess, we can't have a sleepover if you tell us everything right now," The girl said with a chuckle.

Angela laughed at Nellie's words as she hummed in agreement. Jessica groaned before complying, "Be here as soon as you guys can. Bye, love you!"

And the phone call ended. Nellie took the phone off her ear and shut it off. She looked to Emmett who was just laughing at her before lightly swatting him. He threw his hands up in mock defense but didn't stop laughing at her even for a moment.

"Don't hit me! Jess is one for the dramatics, isn't she?"

She scoffed and shook her head, "That's one way to put it. But I love her and she's having a Jess Crisis and so I have to be there for her."

He grinned at her and nodded his head. "I'll see you at school tomorrow?"

She nodded her head and smiled at him as she gathered her things together and waved, "See you at school tomorrow, Emmett. Maybe if you have a Jess Crisis, we can have a sleepover." She winked at her words before they both began laughing and she took off towards the door.

Angela had beat the girl to the house as her and Jessica only lived a couple blocks away. Nellie was used to this so it didn't bother her one bit as she walked right into the house and up the stairs to her best friend's room where both Angela and her were sitting on the bed.

Jessica groaned as she got up and dragged the girl to the bed. "About time you show up! I've got so much to tell you guys, it's crazy. Then I need your boy troubles to distract myself from mine."

Angela shook her head, "I don't have any."

Nellie and Jessica gave the girl a knowing glare as Nellie scoffed, "Yeah, right. You can go last so you have time to remember."

"Okay, okay," Jessica got herself into gossip position as she put a hand on both her friends knees and widened her eyes, "me and Mike were at the movie theaters the other day when towards the end of the movie, he looked me in the eyes and just, like, stared. He started for a shitting solid thirty seconds before he started leaning in. He was going to kiss me! Then his stupid little brother called and he had to leave me there, literally freaking out."

Nellie's eyes widened as did Angela. "Shit, Jay. That's, like, actually insane." Nell said with a surprised voice. Normally a Jess Crisis is a situation that is completely one-ended but she just didn't manage to pick up on that.

Angela nodded her head in agreement as she looked between the two girls, "That's not at all what I expected to hear when you started this story."

"It's crazy, right?!" when both girls nodded, she groaned and threw her head back on her pillows until she lifted herself back up and sighed, "whatever. Who cares. Nell, your turn before I explode."

"Well, okay. You both know how we went on a date?" they both nodded, "Well, I went to meet his family the other day..."

Squeals were elicited from both Angela and Jessica's throats as she jumped up and practically attacked the ravenette. Nellie laughed at their reactions because that's exactly how she did as soon as she got home.

"Oh, my God! How could you not tell us this sooner?" Jess said with wide eyes.

"I'm sorry! You had practice and Angela was at dinner with her family."

"Bitch, I don't care where I'm at, call!" Angela said as she laughed and Jessica nodded and hummed in agreement.

"Okay, okay, well we've been hanging out more often. Like, he invited me to his house today, actually. We were hanging out when you called."

Jessica's jaw dropped as if she had just gotten the largest piece of gossip ever, "What. Why the hell did you come over here, Penelope Jo Donovan!"

Nellie rolled her eyes at the usage of her full name. "Because I'm not the type of girl to just drop my friends for a guy! You need me Jess and I wasn't gonna abandon you for him."

Angela nodded her head in understanding, "I totally understand that. She has a good point, Jess."

"Well, yeah, okay, I appreciate you choosing me over him but God, Nell-Nell! That could've been your first kiss! Or you could've gotten some!" Jessica said with an immediate sigh.

Nellie's jaw was now dropping as she swatted at the brunette with a gawk. "Jessica! That was not going to happen."

Angela also swatted at the girl with a disapproving look on her face until they all laughed at each other. Once they calmed down, Jessica was next to talk. "Okay, okay, Ang, your turn!"

Angela sighed as a blush crept to her cheeks. She was normally the quieter one in her friend group and boy talk was normally something she just listened into — not participated in. Not because of Jess and Nell. The two girls tried telling their best friend that she could quite frankly have anyone but she just couldn't see it for herself.

"Well, Eric called me pretty the other day..." She said with a blush.

Nellie awed and Jessica grabbed the girls hands and squealed, "Ang, that's amazing! What'd you say? What'd he do next?"

Nellie laughed at her friend's antics as she waited for Angela to answer. The girl shrugged her shoulders as she pushed her glasses up on her nose, "I just said thank you and he smiled at me. It wasn't anything jaw dropping."

Ironically, Jessica's jaw did drop as Nellie grabbed Angela's hand. "If it mattered to you, it's more than jaw dropping to us, Ang."

Jessica nodded, "Babe, that's awesome!"

A blush crept onto her cheeks again and she shook her head. Angela wasn't one for attention and seeing as she was receiving a lot, it was starting to slightly overwhelm the girl.

Nellie noticed this immediately and decided the best course of action: a distraction. "Jess, you have to tell us more about you and Mike. What even prompted a movie?"

Jessica was more than ready to talk about it as she groaned and her cheeks reddened, "Oh, my God. You guys are not ready for this shit."
