ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ NEW  CHAPTER
━━━━━━━━━━

TWO MONTHS.

Two months of the youngest Olympic coven member living out her undead life in Alaska with the Denali's. So far, Nellie had grown so close with the vampires that you'd think she had known them her whole life.

Tanya had taken a liking to the vampire the most. The two had created a weekly routine of hunting together without the others just to have some girl talk. Nellie enjoyed the older vampires company, some parts of her reminding her of Jessica.

Nellie missed Forks almost everyday. Some days more than most. She tried her best to keep her mood light as she reminded herself that they were better off without her. They would thrive through their high school career and then all would be well once they eventually forgot about the teenagers.

Or so she hoped, at least.

Rosalie and Nellie were in the kitchen, baking up a batch of cookies for the children's school in the town. They had started to make it a little routine between the two, Rose telling Nell of her human life and so on.

"Wait, these weren't suppose to be the chocolate chip ones, right?" Nellie asked as she pulled the cookies out of the oven, now noticing they lacked the brown, melted chocolate.

Rosalie sighed, "Again, Nell? Seriously? At this point, we might as well forget about making chocolate chip ones all together."

Nellie's arms flailed out in front of her in her defense, "I'm sorry! It's hard to keep up, okay?"

The older vampires head shook to each side as she pulled out their second batch of cookies. "Sometimes I forget how you could manage to fall for Emmett. Then, I remember just how alike the two of you are."

And it was safe to say that Nellie's jaw dropped. It was one thing to insult Emmett but to compare her to him? That was enough for the young vampire to want to rip someone's head off, "We are not alike. Emmett's so...Emmett."

"Yet, you still made it through a year with him." Rosalie said with a smirk as she looked to the girl. Now all they had to do was wait for their third batch of cookies to finish cooking and then they could start prepping them for Carlisle to take into town with him.

Nellie shook her head. If she had been human, a blush would have fell to her cheeks immediately. Just a few days ago, the couple had celebrated their one year. If you asked Nellie a year ago if she thought the two would make it that far, she'd probably look at you funny as she didn't even think it'd last.

"Shut up."

━━━━━━━━━━

Nellie was sat on the balcony attached the hers and Emmett's room. It was one of the bigger ones and was perfect for Nellie to try her millions of new hobbies she tried to pick up in her free time.

This specific hobby unfortunately included trying our historical fiction. Nellie didn't necessarily mind it but when you lived in a household of people who lived during practically every single one of the areas, she couldn't really enjoy it either.

Her feet were propped up on an ottoman and she was lying peacefully in her comfy egg chair. Majority of the family was out to feed but luckily, Nellie and Tanya had already done that. Though, Tanya still went for the extra boost in energy.

She heard the subtle sound of the bedroom door opening and Emmett's distinct footprints walking towards her. She smiled to herself but made to efforts to get up as she was just getting to a good scene in her book.

"Another one?" Emmett asked as he eyed the book with a grimace. Emmett was far from a reader and seeing how many books his girlfriend seemed to be rapidly getting through was almost unsettling.

Nellie rolled her eyes as she closed the book and looked up to him, "Yes, Em; another one. Some of us value our education."

He scoffed. "No need for an attitude with me."

"There's always need for one with you."

Despite their banter, Nellie lifted herself up and planted a loving kiss to Emmett's lips. She loved the smile that fell to them as his arms rested comfortably at her hips — hers going around his neck.

"I thought you were hunting with the others today?" She said as she furrowed her brows.

He shrugged, a hint of a smile falling to his lips, "I had other plans."

At that, one of Nellie's eyebrows raised in suspicion. She couldn't imagine what the burly vampire could possibly have planned and it seemed to confuse her tremendously. "And that is?"

"Follow me."

Nellie found herself being led by the older vampires hand. She giggled to herself but made no attempts to back out. She couldn't imagine what he had planned and so curiosity hit her like a brick as she tried to decipher through her mind at what it could be.

Before she knew it, she was down the stairs and being led out the back door, a glimpse of light hitting her pristine vision as they began walking towards to tree-line. Yet again, Nellie's eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"Em, wh—," The newborn was shut down immediately as she looked to find string lights hanging from almost every tree in their vicinity. There were small mason jars filled with what looked like makeshift fireflies and tulip pedals crowding the floors beneath their feet.

Nellie looked around her, the romantic sight before making her stomach swirl with a feeling she had never felt before. As she looked to Emmett, her jaw dropped as a hand went to cover her mouth.

Said man had a gaze like no other pointed in her direction. It was full of love as an easy smile befell to his lips. His eyes were looking up at Nellie as he kneeled down, a white box holding a large diamond ring inside it.

Her eyes moved between the ring and Emmett, her mind racing a million thoughts a minute as tears that would never shed pricked at her eyes. "Penelope Jo Donovan, will you do me the pleasure of being my wife? Living out our long lives together as one and making me the happiest vampire un-alive?"

A cheeky grin was placed on his lips at his words and Nellie would've scoffed had the circumstances been different, "Oh, Emmett, Oh, my God. Oh, my God, yes!" The ring was long forgotten as the girl jumped at him the second he was off his knee.

She gave him a long, loving kiss as he held her up by the waist. "Really? You will?" he said the moment their lips fell apart, "I mean, I'm not forcing you to. I get if you think you're too young or—,"

"Shut up, Em. I mean, yeah, I'm hella young but so what? I have so many damn years I have to live so why not go ahead and marry you. What's the point in waiting when I know I don't want anyone but you?" Nellie said, her amber eyes twinkling with love as she looked into his.

He smiled, his eyes landing on his lips as he kissed her yet again. When he sprung the idea on the family when Tanya and Nellie went hunting the other day, he had no idea how this was going to go.

But here they were, engaged.
