Song: Castle On The Hill by Ed Sheeran
Dedicated to:
Ember University| Hastings Library, 4:30 pm
As I sat in the quiet stillness of the Hastings Library, surrounded by towering bookshelves and the soft hum of students typing away, my mind wandered to the events of the past few days. It had been three long days since my dinner invitation to Samantha, and I found myself both eager and anxious for our upcoming date tomorrow.
I glanced down at my watch, a vintage Rolex that had been in my family for generations. The hands ticked steadily, a constant reminder of the passing time. With a deep breath, I refocused my attention on the textbook open before me, determined to make the most of this study session.
Just as I was beginning to make headway on my assignment, my phone buzzed with a message from my father, Jaysen Emerson. He was requesting that I come by the family estate to discuss something important. Gathering my belongings, I made my way to the parking lot and slid into the driver's seat of my sleek, black Bentley. The familiar rumble of the engine soothed my nerves as I set off for the Emerson compound, situated about 45 minutes from the university.
As I pulled into the grand, wrought-iron gates, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia wash over me. This had been my childhood home, where I had spent endless hours playing with my younger sister, Carolina, and exploring the sprawling gardens with Leighton.
