As I stand in front of my closet, surrounded by a mountain of discarded outfits, I can't help but feel like I'm about to have a full-blown meltdown. My date with Colin is in just a few hours, and I'm completely freaking out.
I start to pace back and forth, freaking out about my date with Colin tonight. I've had a crush on him for so long, and now that we're finally going out, I'm a nervous wreck.
"Samantha? Sammy, are you in here?" Aspen's voice calls out, and I hear the familiar sound of my dorm room door opening.
"Yeah, I'm in the closet!" I call back, my voice high-pitched with nerves.
Aspen, Nicolette, and Rosalia come bustling into the room, their eyes widening at the sight of me sprawled on the floor, drowning in a sea of clothes.
"What the hell is going on?" Nicolette asks, her brow furrowed with concern.
I take a deep breath, trying to gather my composure. "I'm freaking out, that's what's going on! I have a date with Colin in a few hours, and I have no idea what to wear or how to do my hair or makeup or—I have no idea what to wear or how to act or what to say!""
The girls spring into action. Nicolette starts working on my hair, Aspen rummages through my closet to find the perfect outfit, and Rosalia begins doing my makeup.
"Relax, Samantha," Aspen says, "It's just Colin. You guys have been friends for ages, and he obviously likes you back. Just be yourself, and you'll be fine."
As they work their magic, the girls start to grill Aspen about her own love life. "So, Aspen," Nicolette says, "what's going on with you and Elijah?"
Aspen's cheeks immediately flush, and she tries to brushes it off. "Oh, you know, we're just friends. Nothing to see there."
