In conclusion, the deception of love means the chase, the reality and the pain before the end result of love in such solitude.I shut my laptop and finally submit my essay. If I had been in the right state of mind I would have finished this long ago. But I've been somewhat occupied.
I glance up at my mother, since our little fight a few days ago, pretends it never happened; as usual. She's dressed in her office clothes, a tight skirt and a loose satin blouse with luscious hair. She tries more now that Joseph is in the picture.
"I was thinking once you're done with homework, the three of us can go into town. What do you think?" She asks, pouting herself some wine in a tall glass.
"I can't. I have a lot of studying to do." I grab my laptop and stand, leaving her in the kitchen.
I pass by Reggie's room, peeking my head in there to see him on his phone, with a smile on his face.
It's been a week since I saw Jude around, I'd seen him a few times at school when I would look for him. But he hasn't been around the house at all. I walk into Reggie's room who doesn't even glance at me.
"Who's got you smiling?" I ask, sitting on the edge of his bed.
"Dad" he says, typing on his phone. I refrain from rolling my eyes.
"We're in a group chat, me, dad and Giselle. He's taking me out on his yacht Saturday. Mom already said I could go. You know you can come if you want, dad would be happy." Reggie suggest.
I've come to a point where I've run out of excuses to tell him. At least, excuses that make sense.
"Mom said you can go?" I raise a brow.
"Yeah. So you should consider coming too. Plus Giselle said she had some good news so you should go." He sits up on his bed.
"Why would mom say yes?" I think out loud.
"Why would she say no? I haven't seen dad in 2 months. Why do you always have to be so rude to them?!"
"Reggie, you just don't know him like I do. Okay?" I hate fighting with my brother because I'd actually kill for him. And lying feels even worse to do to him.
"What do you know? Because dad has always been there for me since I can remember. And for you too but it seems like you're never putting in work to try." He lets out his frustration.
