"But with me?" I continue his sentence. "I feel more warmth around you than I have ever with other people. I know we haven't known each other long but something about being near you just feels right," he says gently, looking down at his own hands. "I want to find someone who cares about me for who I am, not what I do. I mean, yeah, I want Nico's terror to end. Is it worth it if I'm hurting the ones I love?" His voice starts to break and his eyes start to fill with tears. "I..." He starts again. I scoot closer to him and gently put his hand in mine. I rub my thumb to reassure him. "I understand. You want someone to be your anchor. Come back to them from the fight and feel loved. Right?" He looks up at me. "Y-yeah, exactly that." His face flushes heavily with a thick, deep red color. I notice his face changing color and find it cute. I don't say anything just yet. "I-I mean, I was dating this woman for a couple of years until she decided she couldn't handle it anymore," His voice fades off in the end. "Oh, I'm sorry to hear about that. What was her name?" I look back up at you. "Jenna," Clancy's eyes dart down to my hand in his. "I just feel so lost without her now. I don't know why she had to leave so abruptly like that..." He turns his head to look at me, eyes are all teary. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't be bringing this up with you. I..." He pauses. "I do enjoy your company don't get me wrong. Y-you're also a very beautiful person. The prettiest woman I've seen in this town in a long time." All of a sudden, I feel my face heat up from his compliment.

Ten minutes later, after talking some more about the roof, we headed back inside the house through the windows. "Goodnight, Y/N," Clancy says softly, returning to his room. "Goodnight Clance" I smile back. I head into my bathroom and wash my face. All of a sudden I hear a thud. What the hell? I finish cleaning and wiping my face dry and walk out into my room. Clancy is back and Ned is jumping up and down on my bed. "I thought you got hurt so I came back in here to check on you," Clancy says, turning to face me. "Oh, I was just getting ready for bed in the bathroom. I guess Ned wants to have fun right now, although it's 11:30," I respond. Clancy smiles and shakes his head, walking out my door. He goes into the dark into his room and closes the door ajar. I look down at Ned, folding my arms and leaning on one leg. "Time to go little guy. It's time to go to sleep". Ned nods his head and jumps down off my bed. He waddles back to the living room to go to sleep in his spot on the couch. I get adjusted and cozy in my bed and start drifting off to sleep. The night grows quiet as the house fills with gentle snores from everyone and the nice sound of the breeze that flows into the house from outside.
