Claiming the dragon

His pov

Aemond's pov
I woke up this morning to the sorrowful new of my father's death. I don't feel too sad because he never cared for any of his children other than Rhaenyra but still he was my father, the King.

After hearing the news, I was informed that my mother requested my presence in her chamber. I hurriedly to her chamber thinking it was about Rhaenyra being crowned and about how we should bend out knee to her. "Mother" I called slowly entering the room. "Come in Aemond" she said grimly. I walked towards her when she spoke again "Aegon will be crowned, Go find him"

I was utterly confused. I know that Rhaenyra is the rightful heir. But one thing I don't accept is that her son Jace being the heir, he is a bastard. There is no way a bastard is going to rule over us. "Mother, are we starting a war? You know Rhaenyra is the rightful heir and Aegon doesn't even wish for the crown" I say trying to get her to understand.

"The king named him the heir before his death" my mother said. That can't be true, my father the King knows that Aegon is not fit for ruling. "Go find him and bring him to King's landing immediately " my mother orders.

I immediately go to find Vhagar as we take off in the sky to find my stupid brother who will become a king in a few days. As I was flying in the sky crossing King's landing to go to the nearby islands I saw a young girl. She was walking inside the sea slowly, as if asking for the sea goddess to take her in. She stood there in the water for a few moments and then went back to the shore. I left the area after making sure that she was okay.

I reached a nearby islands where there was many pubs and bars. I knew Aegon frequented this island with sunfire often. It was not too long before I found him and dragged him back to his dragon. He followed me obediently so I was sure that he doesn't know about the gate waiting for him.

As we reached King's landing my mother came to inform Aegon about his succession. He immediately tried to take off. If not for Vhagar scaring off sunfyre who refused to move he would have gotten away.

The same evening Aegon was crowned the heir. While the crowning ceremony was going peacefully, there was a sudden rumble frythe underground. Meleys made an appearance with her rider Rhaenys on top of her. People were scared and started running away.

Rhaenys gave an order to Meleys which she obediently followed burning down the entire place. I barely managed to escape when I got the news for the severe injury my grandfather Otto Hightower had. He was almost completely burning with very little chances of survival.

Aegon was also hurt with burn scars running all over his body and I was appointed the interim King as Jahaerys was too young for kingly duties.

As soon as I was appointed the first thing I ordered was revenge on the blacks for burning my home and my family. I gathered the small council and asked for their army to attack the Black's base at Dragonstone
