"Mmmm. That feels nice."
"You like that?"
"Yeah." He looked up at her as she held his head. "Why'd you stop?"
"Cause we ain't going that far." Janet frowned.
"Why not?"
"Babe, you have a lot going on. You don't need to worry about sex." Janet huffed and sat next to him on the couch. "Don't be mad. It's just that you got emancipated, moved into this place, you're going to school, you're working. The last thing you need is to slip up."
"Slip up?"
"I don't want you to get pregnant. I want you to live and get things straightened out."
"We've done it before. What's so different now?"
"Everything. Before you weren't a legal adult. There were a bunch of resources in place for you, but you're considered a legal adult now. You don't have benefits yet, besides what the state offers you. You only work a part time job and I don't make a lot on my job. Plus we both want to go to college. We can't slip up." Janet looked at him and sighed. "I'm sorry."
"No, you're right." She laid on his shoulder. "I guess I'm just....I don't know. I never thought of myself as having something to lose, so I just live how I want and do whatever I want."
"You have a lot to lose. You're amazing." He pecked her lips. "And when you get birth control and I get some condoms, we can do it more, but right now....we just have to control ourselves." Janet chuckled.
"I guess I can do that." He wrapped his arm around her.
"You can and don't worry, there'll be a day when we will be away from this type of life."
"You think?"
"Of course. You'll be a Science teacher and I'll be a stock broker." Janet smiled.
"Where will we live?"
"Wherever you pick and we'll have all those little rascals you want." She hit his chest.
"Don't talk about our future kids like that. You're gonna love them."
"I know, because they'll come from you and they'll look just like you but act like me. Our daughters will have their classmates hating cause they're gorgeous and smart. Our sons will have to beat up the boys that hurt them."
"And you will be too."
"You know that. Can't have my babies being hurt." They sighed. "They're gonna have a much better life than we did." Janet fought tears.
"I hope so."
"I know so." He looked down at her and wiped her tears that had fallen. "I love you, Janet." She looked up at him.
"I love you too, Kamaal."
Janet jumped and ran to the car. "I like this one." Walter walked behind her.
"Is that the car we researched?" Janet frowned.
"No, but it's cute and it's big. I like that."
"We'll see after we check out the car we talked about." Janet turned her nose up.
"Fine." She grabbed onto Walter's arm as they walked into the dealership. Two of Walter's men and three of Amaru's men walked behind them while some were posted at several entrances and in their cars keeping a lookout.
