"Janet, come on. Come with us." Janet sighed and turned to the next page of her textbook.

"Guys, I have to study."

"J, you've been studying all week. You haven't left this room except for class."

"Gil, I have a big test..." he closed her book.

"I promise you'll be able to study."

"But what if Rene is there?" She opened her textbook and continued looking at it. "I don't want to see him."

"Booty, you'll be with us."

"Tina..." Janet shook her head and chuckled. "I just..."

"Girl, you haven't been going anywhere since that weird job you had." Janet tensed up. "What was the deal with that anyway?" asked Gil. She sighed.

"It was just some side work to help pay my tuition."

"So why don't you do it anym.."

"Because I don't." Janet looked at him and he looked into her eyes. He knew something was eating at her, but he didn't know what. Gil's known Janet since freshman year and they immediately hit it off and he introduced her to Tina. They've been incredibly close ever since.

"Listen, I got you like always and short of someone knocking us over the head and trying to kill us...you won't be alone at the party." Janet sat back in her chair and looked at them. Tina held her hands together with her bottom lip poked out. She smirked and sighed.

"Fine, but no drinking. Just dancing."

"Deal. No drinking."

"Okay." Janet closed her textbook and stood up. "Let me get dressed." Gil jumped up and clapped his hands.

"Yay!"

"We go deep

and we don't get no sleep

Cause we be up all night

Until the morning light."  Janet danced against Tina and laughed.

"Stop acting so gay." said Tina. They went over to the snacks.

"Shut up. You know you like me being all over you." They ate a few chips. "You should stay over with me tonight. We can go over the study guide together." Tina smirked.

"I don't know. Last time we did that we didn't study." They laughed.

"But...it was fun."

"Definitely." Tina rubbed Janet's shoulder and she blushed.

"Tina..."

"We can't, Janet. You know that."

"I know, but...it's okay to hope." Tina looked down.

"Yeah. If things were different maybe we could, but you know that...."

"Hey, Janet." Janet rolled her eyes.

"What do you want, Rene?"

"Just want to talk. Come on."

"No." Tina grabbed her wrist. "She doesn't want to talk to you." They walked away and went to another part of the house. "Are you okay?"

"I just don't know why he keeps trying to get me."

"Some guys just don't know how to take no for an answer. Don't worry. I got you." Janet smiled as Tina held her hand.

"Thanks."
