Chapter 2 - Meeting with Luca

I woke up to the sound of an unfamiliar car parking up infront of my house as the engine drew to a stop. I had opened the door and was greeted by Lu-Xiao who casually flicked the keys into his jacket pocket, popping a chewing gum.

"Whose car is this?" I asked, trying hard not to show I was expressing disdain.

"Swapped it with Cuong. He's getting my car maintained ready to give to Yavin after he accepted to spend time in juvy."

"What for?"

"Had a tip off that his birthday was going to be gatecrashed, I'm doing him a favour so that people don't know where he lives."

"And what will you gain from it?" I asked.

"Nothing. Just thought I'd do something good for once after all these years of gatecrashing parties."

"Well that's not going to help my situation."

"In what way?"

"I was planning on challenging Akira to a race."

"What for? His cars owned by the Lin-Kuei, he's only allowed to drive it when Jel-Li requests it."

"Great. How am I going to make it interesting. I'm too old to be throwing fists."

"I know the Lin-Kuei want the Emerald Bushido from 14K. If you get your hands on that you'll have leverage on how Akira can use his car."

"Nice. Come inside, let's plan." To which he helped himself inside, not bothering to take his shoes off. I tried not to show I was annoyed but I knew Luca wasn't about mannerism.

"Your friend not wanting to come in?" I asked, realising someone was doing their makeup in the car.

"Oh Yen? Just leave the door open for her she usually has a habit of coming in when she's ready.

"So we all know girls usually hold Bushido weapons. As we both know it was Emily who requested to have Julie's Jade to get her boyfriend back from the Sun-On-Yee's captivity.

"Which you have stored somewhere at home?"

"It's locked up in Demi's house, the girls placed enchantments on it, no one can grab it."

"The Emerald Bushido is said to be just as rare as the Jade, but it's situated down at the South Side. No car can travel down that way without clearance. None of our cars are roadworthy either, so we'll have issues with the law seeing as though it's outside our vicinity. Rural laws affect us differently than metro."

"Right, didn't know that. So then who does have clearance?"

"Leila's father has clearance, but no one besides close family can speak to her, especially with her two kids."

"If this is the right Leila I know what to do."

"Which is?" He asked, shuffling his deck of cards.

"I have to pay a visit to an old friend in Parkville."

"People say that replaying a tragic memory activates tears, but not many people have experienced pain on such a spectrum, so I improvise."
