"The infamous Jordan Yang, friendly with the womanizer Lu-Xiao who is unfortunately cousins to the infamous Pu-Li; my girlfriend." He shook his head slowly, pausing to engulf another spring roll as we sat opposite each other in Sunshine; Three Sisters.
"If it weren't for Pu-Li giving me the OK, both you and your brother Lu-Xiao would've been buried six-feet deep already." He said as he sipped on his Borjang tea to finish off his entree.
"Kids playing dirty to accomplish their goals? Quite pitiful if you might ask me, your incident with Wayne Long and the saber reached the news." He said, pushing the article towards me to have a look. I was familiar of its existence, sliding it away from myself; uninterested.
"To top it off, your brother in arms- Wilson; has a history for bringing sabres to festivals to sort out 'altercations'. Quite frankly your team plays dirty." Namco sighed, pushing his tea away.
"If it were up to me I wouldn't be wasting my time with a team of barbarians; but fortunately we share the same common goal, to get all God cards." He said defiantly.
"Sure if that's how you want to see it, but also because I come seeking information."
"What kind of information?" He replied.
"If any of your boys go to Keilor Downs College."
"As a matter of fact I do, why?"
"We need someone to get close with a girl, she's one of the Geisha girls who represent YSK."
"Better not be Amber, I don't want a destructive girl like that near one of my close bros." He said simply. I shook my head, laughing.
"Not Amber, Bonnie."
"The Arab hottie?" He asked, to which I nodded.
"I can get Peter Bui to watch over her, just make sure she doesn't know. I don't want any of my boys getting close to girls."
"Why's that?"
"Because girls are nothing but distractions." He said, the thought of which causing my eyes to widen.
"Seems abit extreme."
"Coming from you; your values are confusing as heck, 'respect even your worst adversary, for respect will eventually be given back?' That's what's written in your book, Old Genesis he said, pointing out an old quote which I had written for the crew.
"How I teach my boys street etiquette is not something you should tease, without simple values it'll just be another dog eat dog world."
"Redemption is something not many people deserve anyway." Namco began.
"As much as delinquency may seem like a fate that many can't escape from, the correct decision paves a pathway to more positive opportunities, opportunities that could hold key to changing one's life for the better." He said, sipping on his tea.
"Why do you think there's a high rate of delinquency in Melbourne? It's not because it's glamorous; oh, far from it- girls? They distaste it, some will claim the lifestyle is barbaric, immature even- but what would they know? They don't understand our pain, what we had to go through in order to seperate ourselves from the average; they waste little effort for people like us." He snickered.
"You can do the best you can to education children who live the lifestyle, but the best solution is finding them a way out, not convincing them that it's fine when there are other ways to live life fruitfully; a life that parents would be proud to see for their loved ones. Delinquency is just a title you stamp kids who feel too entitled to sit down on the table when dinner is served." He said, sipping on his tea.
"You make it seem like it's the end of the world when it is merely a lifestyle only designed for the niche."
"Let me ask you something Jordan, would you want your son being part of a rowdy group?" He asked me.
"If that's what makes him happy." I said, shrugging while putting a prawn springroll in my mouth.
"Your son will wound up exactly like me, sitting here with a kid younger than him convincing me that I'm the issue when you're part of the problem; it'll just be a vicious cycle where someone you care about needs to pick up where you left off; and you better hope you played your part for your ancestors to praise you in the afterlife, because being a man means having to do something that nobody wishes to do- but has too because it's an obligation; a duty."
"Right." I said, to which he continued.
"Can I ask you something." He said, revealing the original copy of Guns, Love, Roses, sliding it to me. The binded copy was enough to be mesmerised about.
"Why did you portray yourself as a leader here but in version two you labelled yourself a follower, virtually giving Wilson the mantle."
"Because that's what John would've wanted to read. He wanted to know what it was like not being leader, and you know what he found out? That not having to lead makes being a teeny bopper provides more freedom."
