"Where is that bastard?" Beomgyu muttered under his breath, scanning the crowded hallway for any sign of Yeonjun.
His eyes finally landed on Yeonjun standing at his locker, surrounded by his group of friends. Beomgyu felt a familiar pang of annoyance as he watched the other boy laughing and chatting with his friends like he owned the place.
Despite the fact that they were in the same grade, Beomgyu always felt like Yeonjun was above him in some way. Maybe it was the way he carried himself, his charming smiles and confident attitude. It drove Beomgyu insane.
As if sensing Beomgyu's gaze on him, Yeonjun glanced up and their eyes locked for a brief moment. A small, smug smile tugged at the corner of Yeonjun's lips before he returned his attention to his friends.
Beomgyu gritted his teeth, feeling the familiar anger and annoyance bubbling inside of him. He didn't understand why he always let Yeonjun get under his skin like this, but he couldn't help it.
They had been at each other's throats since their freshman year, constantly bickering and competing in everything from academics to sports. Beomgyu couldn't name a single conversation they had that didn't end in some sort of petty argument.
And yet, despite their constant squabbles, there was something about Yeonjun that Beomgyu couldn't quite shake. He found himself drawn to the other boy's confidence and charm, even though he despised him. It was a constant battle between wanting to punch him in the face and wanting to kiss him.
But as much as he tried to suppress it, Beomgyu couldn't deny the strange attraction he felt towards Yeonjun. It was like every time they interacted, there was a spark between them that neither of them could ignore. So instead, they ignored it and continued to butt heads.
One day, after a particularly heated argument, Beomgyu found himself alone in the boys' restroom, trying to cool off. He splashed water on his face and looked at himself in the mirror, feeling frustrated and exhausted.
Just then, the door opened and Yeonjun walked in, looking just as angry as Beomgyu felt. They both froze, surprise and annoyance on their faces.
"What are you doing here?" Beomgyu snapped, still reeling from their argument just moments earlier.
Yeonjun raised an eyebrow, looking equally annoyed. "I could ask you the same thing. Can't a guy take a piss?"
Beomgyu scowled, feeling his irritation growing. "You don't have to be a d*ck about it."
"Oh, and you're not being a d*ck right now?" Yeonjun retorted, crossing his arms. "You're the one who started the argument in the first place"
"Only because you were acting like a spoiled prick as usual" Beomgyu shot back, his temper flaring up again.
"And you never miss an opportunity to be a know-it-all, huh?" Yeonjun sneered. "I swear, you're always trying to one-up me, it's exhausting"
Beomgyu clenched his fists, feeling his anger rising even more. "Maybe if you weren't such a cocky ass, I wouldn't have to put you in your place all the time"
Yeonjun laughed, a derisive sound that made Beomgyu's blood boil. "You're just jealous because I'm better than you in every single way"
"Jealous? Of you?" Beomgyu sneered. "Please. You're just a pretty boy with an inflated ego. I don't need to be jealous of that"
Yeonjun's expression darkened at the insult. "Pretty boy? Is that the best you've got? You sound pathetic"
Beomgyu took a step closer, his anger fueling him. "And you sound like you need a reality check. You think you're better than everyone just because you're good-looking and charming, but that's all you are. Surface level"
