A Love in Conflict [Yeongyu] Hiatus

Chapter five

Beomgyu let out a soft sigh, his gaze following Yeonjun as the older boy walked into the classroom.

"You look like you're going to kill him" his seatmate, Heeseung joking.

Beomgyu eyes narrowing as he watched Yeonjun make his way to his desk.

"You're right" he replied quietly, "I feel like killing him right now"

"You two still at it, huh? I swear, you're like a married couple with how often you fight"Heeseung chuckled and shook his head, clearly finding Beomgyu's anger funny.

Beomgyu shot Heeseung a sideways glance. "We are not a married couple! don't say that it's disgusting" he said and rolled his eyes.

Changbin and Yeonjun were seated in the back of the classroom, engaged in their own conversation. They were chuckling at some inside joke, their voices only a soft murmur, so Heeseung and Beomgyu couldn't quite hear what they were saying from across the room.

Beomgyu's eyes flicked over to where Yeonjun was sitting, his anger growing even more. "Great, and he's laughing with Changbin now" he muttered, "those two are thick as thieves these days"

Heeseung chuckled again, clearly enjoying Beomgyu's annoyance. "What, are you jealous?" he teased, grinning slightly.

"What? No, I'm not jealous! why would I care who Yeonjun gives attention to? I don't care"

"Uh-huh, sure. You're not jealous at all. That's why you're practically glaring at them right now like you want to set them on fire"Heeseung said.

Beomgyu rolled his eyes then turned his attention to the front of the room as the teacher come in. He tried to focus on the lesson, but his gaze continually drifted back to the back of the room, where Yeonjun and Changbin were still quietly chatting and exchanging grins.

Heeseung noticed this, his gaze flicking between Beomgyu and the couple in the back. He smirked, knowing full well that Beomgyu's anger was reaching a boiling point.

The class went on for what felt like an eternity to Beomgyu, his impatience and irritation growing with each passing minute. He scribbled random doodles on his notebook, half-listening to the teacher's droning voice and half-glaring at Yeonjun and Changbin.

Once the bell rang, signaling the end of class, Beomgyu didn't waste any time in packing up his things. He wanted to get out of here as fast as possible.

"Hey, princess, wait up!" Yeonjun called out, a smirk on his face as he approached to Beomgyu.

Beomgyu stopped, his jaw clenching in annoyance. He turned to look at Yeonjun, his gaze cold.

"What do you want?" he asked, trying to keep his anger in check.

Yeonjun chuckled, leaning on the desk next to Beomgyu and casually crossing his arms. "Aww, no need to be so hostile, baby. I can't just talk to my favorite junior?"

Beomgyu's eye twitched at the nickname. "I'm not your favorite anything" he grumbled, stuffing his hands into his pockets to keep them from shaking. He was trying his best to keep his cool, but Yeonjun always seemed to know exactly what buttons to push.

"Oh, come on now. I'm simply trying to be friendly, princess" He smirked.

"Friendly? Is this what you call friendly? taunting and annoy me? Can't you find some other hobby besides pissing me off?" Beomgyu said, rolled his eyes and walked away, as he entered the cafeteria.

He quickly saw his friends Soobin, Taehyun, and Hueningkai sitting together at a table. He made his way over to them.

He flopped down into a seat at the table, sighing heavily. "Ugh, I swear, I'm going to strangle Yeonjun one of these days" he grumbled, running a hand through his hair.

The others glanced at each other, clearly used to Beomgyu's rants about Yeonjun by now.

"Let me guess, he's being his usual annoying self again?"Soobin said, his voice calm and measured.

"You know, for two people who supposedly hate each other, you two spend an awful lot of time interacting"Taehyun said, his usual dry wit making an appearance.

Beomgyu shot Taehyun a glare. "Geez, thanks for pointing out the painfully obvious, Taehyun" He let out another sigh. "I swear, he just has a knack for finding me and then saying or doing whatever it takes to get a rise out of me. I can't get a single moment of peace"

"Maybe you should, you know, just ignore him? Like, don't give him the reaction he's looking for. That way, he'll get bored eventually and leave you alone"Hueningkai, who had been silently listening until now, finally chimed in.

Beomgyu groaned in frustration. "I've tried that. Trust me. But it's like he can sense when I'm not paying attention and goes out of his way to do something even more annoying to make sure I notice him again"

As Beomgyu glanced up from his own frustration, he couldn't help but notice that Soobin and Taehyun were sitting surprisingly close to each other. Their shoulders were almost touching, and they were exchanging a subtle, knowing smile.

"Hey, you two!" Beomgyu calls out, a doubt in his voice. "What's going on? You guys just did... something"

Both Soobin and Taehyun looked slightly guilty, though they tried to play it off as nonchalance. Soobin shrugged slightly, trying to sound casual. "What do you mean? We didn't do anything"

"Oh, come on. I saw you two exchange some kind of secret look just now. Don't try to deny it"Beomgyu said and smirk.

Soobins cheeks turned a little pink, and Taehyun avoided eye contact, playing with his fingers on the tabletop.

Soobin glanced at Taehyun, who nodded at him, and then turned back to Beomgyu. "Okay, FINE. We're officially boyfriends, happy now?" he said, the word boyfriend coming out a bit sheepish.

Beomgyu's smirk turned into a wide smile. "FINALLY. I've been waiting for this to happen forever." He glanced at Hueningkai, who was now coughing as he choked on his food in shock. "You okay there, Hyuka?"

"That's why you two act weird!???"Hueningkai ignore Beomgyu's question and asked the two boys in shock, Taehyun and Soobin just smile guilty at him.
