The rain dropped periodically over the roofs, the streets, the trees, and everywhere. Soft pitter-pattering could be heard from the window that overlooked the gray clouds hanging above the city. As it always was.

A brush of cold air swept through the room, making the body that rested on the cramped up bed shiver and pull the covers tighter to her in hopes of preserving the heat.

However, she knew that sooner or later she was supposed to get up and close the window by herself in order for the cold to not enter so easily.

A sigh escaped as she huddled her arms even closer to herself, denying the fact that she had to stand. She didn't want to.

She wanted to stay cooped up in the bed, under the covers, where it was warm. Where it was safe.

She closed her eyes and forced herself to go back to sleep, not wanting to be awoken anytime soon.
