The music blared through the crowded party, a cacophony of beats and voices blending into an overwhelming haze. Josh scanned the room, his eyes landing on Kylie, who was swaying to the rhythm with a drink in her hand. He sighed, realizing he'd be the one responsible for keeping her in check tonight.
Last party, Kylie had ended up far too drunk, stumbling through the crowd and causing a scene that Ruby had to manage. Tonight, he had promised Ruby he wouldn't let it get that far again. Yet, as the night wore on, Kylie seemed determined to test his patience. Her laughter was loud and uncontrollable, and her attempts to dance were more of a chaotic shuffle than anything else.
"Joshy!" Kylie's voice cut through the noise. She stumbled over to him, her cheeks flushed and eyes wide with a mixture of excitement and intoxication. "You have to try this drink! It's amazing!"
Josh took the drink from her, holding it up to his nose and grimacing at the strong smell. "Kylie, maybe you should slow down a bit. Remember what happened last time?"
Kylie waved him off, her movements erratic. "Come on, Josh. It's just a party. What's the worst that could happen?"
Josh wasn't convinced, but he didn't want to ruin her fun either. "Just don't overdo it, im serious Kylie."
The night dragged on, and Kylie's drunkness worsened. She was now leaning heavily on Josh, her speech slurred and her movements clumsy. Josh's patience wore thin as he watched Kylie beg for more drinks from a passing party-goer. He was exhausted, and the party was starting to feel like an endless loop of chaos.
"Okay, that's it," Josh decided. He couldn't handle Kylie's crazy antics any longer. He made his way through the crowd of people, he needed to find Ruby and get her to help him out. Ruby was always the voice of reason, the one who could diffuse situations with calmness and authority.
Josh finally spotted Ruby standing near the snack table, chatting with a few other cast mates. He hurried over, his expression serious. "Ruby, I need your help. Kylie's had too much to drink, and I can't keep up with her. Can you come with me to get her back to the hotel?"
Ruby's eyes widened with concern as she took in the scene. "Sure, let's get her out of here."
They approached Kylie, who was now slumped over on a couch, giggling uncontrollably with a half-empty bottle of tequila beside her. Josh tried to gently get her up. "Kylie, we're going to head back to the hotel now. Ruby's here to help." He spoke softly.
Kylie looked up, her eyes dancing around the room looking at everyone lassoing by. "No, no, I'm not ready to leave yet. The night just stated! I need more shots!"
Ruby stepped in, her tone firm yet kind. "Kylie, you've had enough. It's time to go home."
Kylie shook her head, her expression one of desperate resent. "No! I don't want to go! Just one more shot, please!"
Ruby remained calm, though her patience was wearing thin. "Kylie, you're not in the right headspace to make decisions right now. It's for your own good."
Kylie's pleas grew louder and more frantic. Come on, Ruby! I just need one more shot. Then i promise we can go!" Kylie whined.
Ruby exchanged a glance with Josh, who looked as exhausted as she felt. Realizing that reason wasn't going to work, Ruby decided on a different approach. She gently but firmly grabbed Kylie's arm, guiding her to her feet. "Alright, Kylie, we're leaving. Now."
Kylie resisted at first, her grip tight on the couch. "No! I don't want to go!"
Ruby sighed, her patience running out. She leaned in close, her voice gentle but firm enough that her point was going to get across. "Kylie, if you don't come with us now, I'll have to carry you out. And you know I will."
Kylie's protest weakened, her resistance faltering as she looked at Ruby's determined face. With a resigned groan, she allowed herself to be helped up, though she continued to mumble complaints and plead for more drinks.
Josh followed closely behind, trying to navigate the crowd as Ruby led Kylie toward the exit. The journey was slow, with Kylie stumbling and leaning heavily on Ruby. By the time they reached the grass, Ruby was clearly exerting considerable effort to support Kylie, who was now alternating between trying to sneak sips from her flask and whining about the party.
Ruby opened the car door, helping Kylie into the passenger seat with a mixture of firmness and gentleness. "Josh, can you make sure she doesn't fall over? I'll drive."
Joshua nodded, assisting Ruby in getting Kylie settled. He could see the exhaustion in Ruby's eyes, a reflection of his own. "Thanks, Ruby. I don't know what I'd have done without you."
Ruby offered a tired smile, giving Kylie one last warning glance. "Just make sure she gets some rest tonight. She'll thank us tomorrow."
As the car pulled away from the party, Kylie was slumped in her seat, finally quieting down as the effects of the alcohol and exhaustion took their toll. Ruby drove with a focused determination, her gaze fixed on the road ahead, while Josh sat in the backseat, keeping an eye on Kylie.
When they finally arrived at the hotel, Ruby and Josh managed to get Kylie into her room, where they helped her into bed. Kylie muttered a few more incoherent protests before falling into a deep, alcohol-induced sleep.
Josh let out a relieved sigh as he and Ruby exited the room. "Thanks again, Ruby. You really saved the night."
Ruby shook her head with a tired smile. "Anytime. Let's just hope she remembers this lesson next time."
As they headed back to their own rooms, the exhaustion of the night finally catching up to them, both Josh and Ruby felt a relief. They had survived another chaotic party with Kylie both coming to the realization that this definitely wasn't the last party the cast would need to attend.
