Clove
"Happy Birthday Clove! Make a wish!" She vispered to herself when she woke up, just like every year on her birthday. And she made the same wish over and over again, for the past 10 years. She wished for Tommy to have a happy childhood. The one thing she never had.Clove quietly got ready, then woke her brother up. She carried Tommy down the stairs, and they quietly left home. Home. She still called it home, even tough the old house with broken windows didn't feel like home at all. Not since her mother wasn't living in it. She left exactly 9 years ago, when Clove was just 7. She remembered it like it was yesterday. She was really excited, because Tommy was born the day before and she could finally visit him and mom in the hospital. She always wanted a little brother. When she saw him for the first time, she tought this day couldn't get better. And she was right. It only got worse. That night when mom kissed her goodnight, she had tears in her eyes. Clove didn't understand why. A few minutes later she heard the door close. She tought her mom was just taking a walk in the moonlight. She didn't know she will never see her again.
Clove shook her head. She couldn't think about her today. Today was too important.
Cato
"Will you come pick us up today Cato?"
"Of course I will Lucy. You know I always do. Now go."
As Cato watched the twins join their friends on the daycare playground, he felt angry. Just like every day. Every afternoon moms and dads came to pick up their children. Except for Lucy and Ben. They were always the last ones, because Cato just couldn't pick them up earlier, and mom and dad were never here. They were on business trips, doing their super important jobs in the capitol. That's what they always did.
That's when he heard her laugh. She always came, to drop her brother off at daycare. Just like his, her parents weren't there either. Come to think of it, Cato never even saw them.
"Hey Cato!" She said that while looking at her brother. She looked beautiful. Her dark brown hair was in a ponytail, she wore it like that almost every day.
"Hey Clove. How are you?"
"Fine, as always" Answered Clove as she sent Tommy in. "By! I'll pick you up in the afternoon!"
They walked out of the daycare, and started walking to the training center.
"So, it's your birthday princess isn't it? When am I getting my birthday kiss?" Cato asked, smirking at Clove.
"Shut up Hadley, you'll get what you want with flirting for other girls. Not for me though." She answered, looking into Catos eyes.
"Oh really, princess. Then what do I need to do to get your attention?" Cato asked, knowing Clove would never like her. She was his district parter after all. This was just the way it would always go. Cato treated her like he treated every other girl, but she wasn't like any other girl for him. But for Clove, Cato was like every other guy she ignored, always being cold, not caring what others were thinking about her. Or so Cato tought.
Clove answered Cato, annoyed.
"Maybe you should stop calling me a princess Hadley. It would help your case you know?"Hi guys, I'm Lily, and I am a huge Clato fan, that's why I decided to write this story.
This was just a beginning, an introduction kind of thing, so please read the next chapter too, I promise the fanfic is going to be full of Clato moments❤️
