Percy returned to camp a few days later, but he only got to see Deianira after fighting two giant bulls, finding out that Chiron was replaced, and Tyson being claimed by Poseidon.

If he was honest, a part of him had expected her to be waiting at the boundary for him, but he knew that was a bit much. They hadn't even put a label on whatever it was they were. They'd been on a date, they'd kissed once, but there were definitely friends, best friends even, they just had yet to talk about it. He knew expecting her to be waiting on him was ridiculous, he just didn't expect that he wouldn't see her at all.

Even Bane was no where to be seen. At the pavilion, Silena kept biting her nails, not paying attention to a word Tantalus was saying. The empty seats beside her where Bane and Deianira usually sat carved a crater of worry into Percy's stomach.

He couldn't ask Annabeth, she'd been away at school as well, Grover was on his own quest, and when he'd asked Chiron before he left, all he'd said was that it wasn't right of him to share.

All of it piled up on the worry Percy already felt after the dream he had a few nights prior. Her pink eyes still stared at him every time he closed his eyes, and the feeling of drowning kept crawling up his throat.

After the pavilion, Percy found his way through the crowd and caught up with Silena, who was still biting her nails as she walked back towards the cabins, her eyes set on the floor. She didn't even hear him coming, or calling her name, until he gently took her by her arm.

Silena jumps slightly, but eases when she sees him. "Percy." her shoulders sag, and she drops her hands. "You scared me."

"Sorry." he manages, suddenly feeling shy. "I just... where's Deianira? I haven't seen her yet."

Silena's expression twists with worry. "Oh uh.." she picks at the picture on her shirt. "I'm not sure if I can... Bane is kind of.." but she sighs seeing the worry in Percy's eyes. "She's at the Big House with Bane, in her room. I don't know if Bane will let you in, but it won't hurt to try." she tries to give a supportive smile.

This doesn't help his worry in the slightly. His brows furrow, his eyes flicking from her to the Big House. "What's wrong, is she okay?" he asks, his voice straining.

"She's.. she's just had a hard time recently, Bane will explain better." Silena puts a hand on his arm and squeezes it slightly.
