"What the hell was that?" Blake demanded.
"We injected you with a tracker. Do not worry, where it hit you is where the tracker will stay," the boss said to them. This made neither Sam nor Blake happy with being tagged by someone they hardly knew. Now they were in this little exclusive club for good.
'Damn it, why did I not see this coming?' Blake thought to himself.
Blake didn't want Sam to be hurt. He had gone and put him in the middle of danger without really knowing what was behind this so-called boss's intention. Now both of them were going to pay for something he did. He did not like it one bit. They were trapped in this contract, so to speak. If there was a way out of this predicament it was going to be found.
Whatever tracker they were using he was going to make sure it was removed before they did anything. It would reveal what they were up to with the hacking and where else they went on the earth. Blake knew there were aliens going to attack earth soon. He just did not know when they were going to attack earth.
The message he got in his e-mail made him wonder from whom it came from. He needed to focus on what was right in front of him. He knew all it was going on with the situation. He needed to figure out how he was going to do it and keep Sam out of trouble at the same time.
He had to give himself time to think this was not the place for him to think. He could think if he was alone and in one of his places. He was going to have to find time to just think. It wasn't an option at this point. The boss looked over at them.
"If you are finished reading, we will let you know when we will need you. We will call your cell phone and it will show up as THEBOSS. It is T H E B O S S. Now you have no excuse to say you do not know how the name spells as I just spelled it out for you. I want you to spell it out for me so I will know you know how it is spelled."
"You spelled it T H E B O S S," Blake told him. He was not in the mood to deal with this much longer. The meeting was about to wrap up soon. He hoped sooner than later.
"Thank you. You may go now," the boss said.
He waved them away. Blake turned and headed out the door. Sam followed Blake out of the club. Sam wondered what would happen now. He didn't like the fact he was hit with a tracking device. If the tracker was computer based, he would be able to hack the device and disable it. He was thinking about a way to deactivate the device. The device was going to create a problem for Blake and himself. The device was going to be more trouble than it was worth.
"Sam, we need to figure out what we are going to do," Blake said.
They got back in the car. Blake sat there quietly. He was not sure how he was going to solve this problem. All he knew was he must find a solution. It would leave Sam and Blake safe and unharmed. Well, not harmed too badly if they did get hurt. Blake drove to the tree where he and Sam first met. They were both in deep thought about all that had happened to them.
"I am sorry for getting you into this situation," Blake told him quietly. He stared out the window.
"If I had not met you, then I would not have dragged you into this mess."
"Blake, if I did not meet you, I would not know where I would be. You helped me keep on the path which was straight and narrow," said Sam. He kept his eyes on him. Blake looked up at Sam when he said those words. He knew it was true. They both stayed quiet as they looked out the window.
Dominic looked at Polaris and rubbed her hair. He was glad they finally had their moment. He hoped in the future there would be more of these moments.
