Chapter 5
The princes saviour

The siblings were waken early the next morning by Gaius. He had given each one of them a chore to do. Victoria had the task to give Lady Morgana a liquid because she had awful nightmares. Then later that day the siblings and Gaius had a banquet to attend.

Victoria wondered through the castle. She soon arrived at Lady Morgana's chambers. "Lady Morgana?" The girl asked as she entered.
"Hello." A girl replied. The girl had long black hair and beautiful emerald green eyes. "Who are you?" Morgana asked.
"I'm Victoria. I'm staying with Gaius." Victoria explained. Morgana smiled at Victoria .
"Oh, is your brother the one, who got into a fight with Arthur twice?" Morgana asked.
"Yes." Victoria laughed. "He's an idiot." She explained.
"Well, Arthur can be rude and obnoxious." Morgana said.
"He can?" Victoria questioned confused.
"Yes.... Are we talking about the same Arthur?" Morgana asked.
"The prince?" Victoria asked.
"Yes. Have you met him?" Morgana questioned also confused.
"Yes, I have." Victoria replied.
"So he wasn't rude to you?" Morgana asked. Victoria shook her head. Morgana's expression turned confused and curious. There was a knock on the door behind Victoria, making her turn around.
"Vicky?" Arthur said confused.
"Hello, Arthur." Victoria replied. Morgana just stared at the pair.
"What are you doing here?" He asked.
"I came to give Morgana this." Victoria answered showing him the bottle in her hand. "Gaius sent me." Victoria explained. "Here." She said handing the bottle to the girl. "I'll just go." Victoria smiled. "Nice to meet you by the way." Victoria said to Morgana before walking past Arthur to exit the room.
"You too." Morgana smiled. As Victoria left she heard Morgana say to Arthur,
"so she's the girl, that's got you going soft." It made her laugh to herself. The brunette walked back to her home and got changed for the banquet.

Victoria wore a red and yellow dress. Her hair was curly and looked tidy for once. "Well, don't you look nice." Merlin grinned to his sister.
"Not really." Victoria replied, she was lying she looked gorgeous. Merlin rolled his eyes at her modesty.

The three left and went to banquet. It was already full of people with fancy dresses and clothes when they arrived. It made Victoria feel out of place. Looking around she noticed Merlin looking at someone as they entered. It was Morgana and she looked stunning. As she walked passed the three she smiled at Victoria. "Merlin remember your here to work." Gaius told the boy who was drooling over Morgana. Victoria laughed to herself at his comment. Merlin's gaze never left Morgana. Victoria followed his gaze and saw Arthur and Morgana talking.
"She looks great, doesn't she." A girl told Merlin. Victoria looked to see the same pretty girl, who was talking to Merlin at the market.
"Yeah." Merlin agreed.
"Some people are just born to be Queen." The girl said. "Oh, hello, I don't think we've met I'm Gwen." The girl introduced herself.
"Hello, I'm Victoria. Merlin's sister." Victoria told Gwen.
"Your very pretty, I had mistaken you for one of the royals." Gwen complemented Victoria.
"Oh, thank you." Victoria smiled.
"Well, it's about to start we should move." Gwen told the pair.
"Okay." Merlin replied.

Merlin and Victoria stood behind Gaius near the stairs. The king was speaking but Victoria was zoned out staring at the prince sitting beside him. After the conversation with Morgana, Victoria became more curious about the Prince he was different to everyone but her. It confused her. Why her? Why not anyone else? She respected the compassion he'd showed to her idiotic brother.

Victoria snapped back to reality as the Lady Helen began singing. There was something about the song that made shivers go up and down her spine. Suddenly everyone in the room became very tired, some had fallen asleep. Merlin and Victoria looked at each other confused, they both in unison covered their ears. The room became dark and cobwebs appeared, covering all the guests. The woman began making her way towards Arthur. The pair realised it. And as she pulled out a dagger the chandelier fell and landed on top of her, knocking her out. The siblings removed their hands from their eyes and looked at each other. "Why did you do that?" Victoria slapped her brother.
"She was going to kill Arthur." Merlin explained. People began waking up forcing Victoria to stop talking to her brother. The people removed the cobwebs from their bodies. And confused looks spread across the room. The king and prince stood up, staring at the knocked out women who had changed from Lady Helen to the women, who had lost her son when the siblings arrived in Camelot. Empathy grew inside Victoria as she saw the women lying there. The women sat up. A dagger quickly flung towards Arthur. In a blink of an eye Arthur was on the floor with Merlin and the dagger was half way through the chair. The two boys sat up staring at the dagger. Victoria looked back at the women. The women lay back down with a groan. Uther was talking to Merlin when Victoria looked back to her brother.
"... you shall be awarded a position in the royal household. You shall be, prince Arthur's man servant." Is all Victoria heard. Applause echoed through the room.
Victoria grinned when she heard Arthur say "Father!" dramatically. Victoria appeared at Merlin's side.
"Well done." She laughed at her brother who rolled his eyes at her. Arthur looked down at the girl. He had been staring at her all night but never got the chance to speak to her.
"This is ridiculous." Arthur muttered.
"Tell me about it." Merlin agreed, causing Victoria to laugh at the pair.
"Good luck boys, don't kill each other." She smiled before walking back to her home.
