Akira dipped his bruised fist into a bowl of ice, wincing slightly at the cold. He glanced back at the man lying unconscious on the floor, his chest rising and falling with labored breaths. Akira's expression was a mix of frustration and satisfaction.
"Did you get him to talk?" Kenji asked, stepping into the room, his eyes scanning the scene.
Akira shook his head, his frustration evident as he clenched and unclenched his bruised hand. "Not yet. He's tougher than I thought. But he'll break soon enough."
Kenji frowned, his gaze shifting to the unconscious man. "We don't have time to wait, Akira. Megumi and Brina will be back any day now and will want answers. We need the information now."
"Will you shut up!" Jaylah huffed as she sharpened her knife, her tone dripping with irritation. "Yapping isn't going to make him spill any faster. We need to focus."
Kenji glared at Jaylah "So, what do you suggest?" he asked, trying to keep his voice steady. Jaylah smirked, her eyes gleaming with a mix of mischief and malice.
"Let me take over. I've got a few tricks up my sleeve that might do the trick. Sometimes, it's not about how hard you hit but where."
Kenji nodded in agreement, stepping aside to let Jaylah approach the man. "Just don't kill him. We still need him to talk," he warned.
