Natasha's POV
Two weeks. Two weeks is how long I've sat here beside Naomi holding her hand and hoping she will come back to me. Two weeks is how long I've had to sit here and feel like my heart has been ripped out of my chest. All I want is for her to wake up.
"Nat, you need to shower and go rest."
I didn't even take my eyes off of Naomi while replying, "I can't leave her."
"Natasha, I understand you are worried for her but quite frankly you stink and you need to rest up."
"Fine, I'll shower but that's it."
I reluctantly let go of Naomi's hand and made my way out of the room.
When I finally made it to our shared room that used to be mine, I stripped myself of my clothes and then got in the shower. I let the warm water relax my muscles. I just wish she would wake up. I want my girl back.
After taking my shower, I put on a fresh pair of sweats.
As I was putting Naomi's sweatshirt on, my phone pinged.
She's awake
I didn't think twice before I was running out of our room and straight for the infirmary.
When I entered the room I could see her smiling as she was talking to Wanda.
Seeing that she was finally awake sent a sense of relief all throughout my body.
Everyone in the room noticed that I was there and they said their goodbyes before heading out, leaving Naomi and me.
I briskly walked up to her bed before taking her face in my hands softly. She stared up at me with a loving look and then reached up to wipe my face, making me realize that I was crying and I didn't even know it.
"Hi, baby."
"Marry me."
I couldn't help but blurt it out. At this moment I just knew I wanted her to be my partner forever.
I watched the shocked look take over her face.
"Nat, you are just saying that because of all the emotion in the air."
"No, if anything this is the only clear thing in my head. I want you in my life forever. What happened made me realize how limited our time together is and I don't want to waste a single minute not being your wife."
She was now crying with me.
"Of course, I'll marry you. There is no escaping me after I say 'I do'."
"I would never want to."
I kissed her and relished in the feeling of our lips together. This woman right here is my home and she always will be.
I joined her in her bed and stroked her hair as I held her.
"Nat, do you want to know something funny?"
I hummed in response.
"I read this quote a long time by Shakespeare he said 'The course of true love never did run smooth'. You know I think I should get that tattooed on me because it definitely is true."
"You know my love that quote is very applicable between us, I don't remember many smooth times we had together. I think we should both get it tattooed."
We both settled back into a comfortable silence with huge smiles on our faces. I can't wait to call this woman my wife.
The end
