Hezekiah's POV
"THIS is so wrong," Jael whispered as she skeptically watched us tying the rope.
"I can't believe this," aniya nang nakahalukipkip at napansin kong panay tapik ng kanyang daliri. "What now?" tanong niya nang mahuli akong nakatingin sa kanya.
I didn't answer. The other doctor joined Jael behind me while I looked around to face the unconscious Maviel. Ilaw Foundation's chapel was the only place I thought to bring her in, the guard and caretaker knew me, and that's why they immediately let us pass. I told them not to let anyone enter while we were there.
What now? I also asked myself.
The demon inside Maviel knew that I was not authorized as an exorcist for this rite. When I was still in the ministry, I knew well how precautious the process was before conducting an official exorcism. That's how it always works—like the justice system in the Philippines, there's a due process—long and dull due process.
But isn't that cruel? To delay justice?
It's the same for this poor child. It's cruel to make her suffer more—to make her wait to get delivered from the evil spirits that torment her.
But you were expelled long ago, you're not allowed to this exorcism, my mind tells me.
Fix your eyes on Me, Hezekiah.
Fix your eyes on Me, Son.
What do I do?
Forget everything you learned before and fix your eyes on Me. I have given you the authority to trample snakes and scorpions...
"We need to take her back to the hospital—"
