The red haired deadhead huffed, head low and hands buried in his hoodie as he followed the bright woman around, peering through the box-dyed locs covering his bright yellow eyes.

Her lilac hair swayed to and fro as she ran around the streets of Tokyo. The 'ultra-modern' city is not something that can be simplified, each direction and narrow street home to diverse individuals- a salary man who slaves away and the companies that own him, the hard drinkers of Shinjuku, the youth culture of Shibuya, and the factory workers in the eastern banks.

It's the most 'Japanese' city of the country, yet simultaneously nothing like the rest of Japan.

The duo walked into a quaint café, and the barista greeted with a cheerful 'welcome'. They both silently made their way to a table near the window, sitting in the chairs opposite to each other.

"It's nice to finally have a break, right Eliah?"

He looked up from the elegant menu, meeting her familiar purple eyes. "It's not a break, you know. We're here for a mission."

"A mission that'll take years to start. We're free to have fun till then~!"

Eliah rolled his eyes, his gaze traveling back to the menu. "You're having the time of your life."

"You'll learn to have fun as well," the older woman chuckled, chin resting in the palm of her hand, "one step at a time."

Or maybe, that's just wishful thinking. The path they've chosen speaks for itself.

"Uraume! Yer got somethin' f'me?"

"Yeah," the clear, bored voice belonged to a woman with short, wavy wine-red hair. Uraume's arm was hooked over the pickup truck window, and her thumb pointed to the back of her truck. "The old man sent supplies, they're in the back,"

The elder mutant began to rummage through the back. "There's a lotta- this a gun?!"

"Shush," Uraume looked around cautiously before turning to him. "The boss payed pretty penny for it, if you know what I mean."

"Boss? Ohh that boss," The man took his box out. "If yer that hard up f'cash, just borrow some. Ya done 'nough for us; it's no biggie."

"It's not that simple and..." then, with a hint of something darker, she spoke. "I don't like debts," Uraume gripped the steering wheel. "See you around."

"Yup, see ya!" He shouted back as the pickup truck drove away.
