Hideki woke up, light blinding his eyes. He tried to get up by supporting himself with his arms. He sighed as he fell back into the bed. He was in a hospital room, he'd done it. He had escaped hell, in a way he was not expecting. What happened after he passed out? Where was he going to go next? Hideki was too tired to further think about it, even though he had just woken up.

"Brat. You're finally awake." A person entered the room.

"Brat?" Hideki questioned, slightly annoyed. He had just regained consciousness after who knows how long, and 'Brat' was the first word he'd heard. No explanation for what happened at all. He looked to his side to see just who addressed him so informally.

"You've been missing for 2 years," The tired man said. Hideki finally managed to focus on the person, he was relatively tall and had long, dark, messy hair and prominent eye bags. His appearance was disheveled as if he had just woken up. He held a brown box.

"Uncle Aizawa..." Hideki mumbled, tears threatening to leak out of his eyes. "Is that you?"

"Eraserhead, in the flesh," Aizawa sat on the edge of the bed, placing the box on the floor. He was restless, despite the fact he had just came back from an all-night shift. The moment he had found out about Hideki, Aizawa had abandoned the comfort of his bed and Hizashi.

Hideki awkwardly started, "So... what's been going on lately? I'm very clueless to the state of the world right now."

Aizawa's eyes widened, Hideki had never concerned himself with such things before. "It's a lot. I'm not sure where to start."

"Oh, then how about what about..." He looked down at his hands, "um, what's happening with you?"

"...Well, I got married-"

"No shot-!" Hideki covered his mouth with his hand, he didn't mean to say that. The boy nervously laughed. "I-I mean, congrats?"

Aizawa looked at him and sighed in exasperation, "It seems you haven't changed a lot."

"Is that bad or good...?" Hideki sweatdropped. "Anyways, what's your wife like?"

The man stayed silent for a moment. "Husband," Aizawa corrected. "He's a hero like me, we met back in high school."

"Ah, childhood sweethearts, huh?"

Aizawa rolled his eyes, Hideki was just like his father, "Don't call us that."

Hideki simply giggled, "I hope I can meet him. Are you going to visit often? Bring him with you when you do!"

"Visits... aren't going to be often, we need to hide you. Nexus probably knows that I used to visit your parents often and that we were close friends. I'm not sure when my next visit will be."

"Oh..." Hideki tried to hide his disappointment, but in front of Aizawa, he couldn't help but lay his emotions bare.

Aizawa's gaze softened. "I wish you could stay with us, but right now it's dangerous. I'll try to call though, okay?"

Hideki nodded. "Thank you."

"I have a surprise. Do you want to open it?" Aizawa wanted to ask so much more. He wanted the exact details of what happened, he wanted names, and he wanted to know who he would go after. But as he gave the plain brown box to Hideki, Aizawa knew he shouldn't.

Hideki should just erase that part of his life.

Aizawa knew that it was a selfish thought, hoping to take away events that shaped the boy into who he is today. But if those events haunted him for a lifetime, Aizawa would want nothing more than for him to just be a normal person and live as if it never happened, than to avenge as his 'duty'.
