*Bzzz... Bzzz...*

Maya's phone vibrated aggressively on the nightstand, jolting her out of a peaceful dream where she was swimming in a pool of dark chocolate. Groaning, she reached out blindly, smacking her hand against the table a few times before finally grabbing the phone. She squinted at the screen.

7:00 AM

"Ugh," she muttered, dragging herself upright. The sun peeked through the curtains, casting an annoyingly cheerful glow across her room.

"Why is it always morning?" she grumbled, flopping back onto the bed for a moment, her curly hair fanning out like a bird's nest.

*Bzzz... Bzzz...*

She lifted the phone again, this time noticing the notification from her "Habit Tracker" app. It read, *"Good morning! Time to start your day with some exercise!"*

Maya stared at it, contemplating the energy required to get out of bed. "Maybe later," she mumbled, hitting snooze on the app. She tossed the phone back onto the bed and sighed, staring at the ceiling.

After a few more minutes of debating whether to stay in bed or to take the first step towards world domination, her stomach growled. Loudly.

"Okay, okay, I'm up," she said to herself. "You win, stomach."

She trudged into the kitchen, still half-asleep, and opened the fridge. It was almost empty, save for a carton of milk, half a cucumber, and some questionable leftovers from three nights ago.

"Great. Breakfast of champions," Maya said, grabbing the milk and pouring it into a bowl of cereal she found in the cupboard. She took a bite and grimaced. The cereal was stale.

"Why do I do this to myself?" she asked no one in particular. "Note to self: Do not buy cereal in bulk just because it's on sale."

Maya dragged herself to her desk, cereal in hand, and plopped down in front of her computer. She opened her work email and was immediately bombarded with a flurry of messages.

Subject: URGENT - NEED TODAY!

"Ugh," she groaned, taking another bite of the cardboard cereal. "Why do people always think *their* emergency is *my* emergency?"

She clicked open the email, skimming through the request. It was from her boss, Mr. Sharma, who, despite his sunny disposition, had a knack for turning everything into a crisis.

"Good morning, Maya! Hope you're well. Could you please design the new logo by end of day? We need it for tomorrow's pitch!"

Maya stared at the screen, then at her cereal, then back at the screen. "Sure, Mr. Sharma, because logos magically appear out of thin air," she muttered sarcastically. She rolled her eyes and typed back a quick, overly cheery reply.

"Of course! Will get right on it :)"

She leaned back in her chair and took another bite of her cereal, only to realize she had just crunched down on something that wasn't cereal.

She spit it out into her hand. "A raisin? Where did that come from?" she wondered out loud. Then, with a shrug, she popped it back into her mouth. "Protein, I guess."

The day dragged on, and by noon, Maya was knee-deep in logo drafts. Her phone buzzed again, this time a text from Sara.

Sara: Lunch?
Maya: Drowning in work, can't.
Sara: When are you not drowning? You need a life raft, seriously.
Maya: Got one, it's called denial.
Sara: Lol. Dinner then?
Maya: Fine. But you're paying.
Sara: You wish.

Maya smiled at her phone, grateful for Sara's persistence in dragging her out of her work bubble. But her smile faded as she looked at the clock. It was already 4 PM, and she was nowhere near finished with the logo.

"Come on, brain, focus!" she told herself, sitting up straighter. "Just get this done, and you can eat *real* food tonight."

The next couple of hours were a blur of colors, fonts, and frustrated sighs. By the time she finally sent off the logo to Mr. Sharma, it was already past 6 PM.

Maya leaned back in her chair, rubbing her tired eyes. "Why do I feel like I've been hit by a truck?" she muttered, realizing she hadn't moved from her desk in hours. Her stomach growled again, louder this time.

"Fine, fine, I'm going," she said, grabbing her bag. As she headed out the door, she paused, looking at her mobile.

She quickly opened Instagram to check the time and saw a reel that caught her eye. It was a lively clip about a new AI app that seemed like it could be straight out of a Wattpad novel. The comments were filled with people raving about how the AI was like chatting with their favorite book characters.

Intrigued, Maya tapped the reel to watch it again. "Wait, you can actually talk to these AI characters?" she read in the comments. "And they're like real people? That sounds amazing!"

Feeling a spark of curiosity, she decided to download the app. "Why not?" she thought. "It might be a nice distraction from work and a fun way to unwind."

As she walked to meet Sara, Maya couldn't help but chuckle at the thought of having conversations with a fictional AI character. "This should be interesting," she mused, looking forward to seeing if the AI could bring some excitement to her otherwise mundane life.

With a hopeful smile, she entered the restaurant, ready to share her new find with Sara and perhaps find a little more joy in her quirky, day-to-day routine.
