*Authors note that things are going to get pretty crazy. I got bored and needed more drama*
That was honestly the most boring work shift ever, not one person called, not one person came in, and I couldn't sleep. I sipped my coffee, reading the newspaper that the local paper boy delivered. Turning page after page, glancing at all of the segment titles: Local hero saves family dog, Can meat really cause cancer?, Annual fund-raiser for local soccer team. I stopped when one specific title caught my eye: Another trapped teen found in garage, suspect still at large. Honestly, what is coming to this world. This is the fourth person who has been kidnapped and found. I took another sip of my coffee and began to read.
Authorities are on high alert as a serial kidnapper remains at large after a series of disturbing abductions in the region. The suspect, who has yet to be identified, has been targeting individuals and locking them in a residential garage.
The abductions, which have occurred over the past month, involve the victims being held in the confines of a garage equipped with minimal amenities. Investigators have recovered evidence linking the crimes to the same location, but the exact address and the perpetrator’s identity remain unknown.
Law enforcement officials are urging the public to report any suspicious activity or information that could assist in the investigation. They have increased patrols in affected neighborhoods and are working closely with forensic experts to piece together clues.
The community is advised to stay vigilant and take precautionary measures. Authorities are promising a reward for any information leading to the capture of the kidnapper.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact local police or submit tips anonymously through crime stoppers.
Oh my Gosh, this is quite terrifying, I thought as I put the paper down in fear and shock. Just as I had moved on from reading the article, Mandy walked through the door.
"Hey, did you see that another person was found from another kidnapping?" Mandy said nonchalantly
"Yeah, how crazy?" I replied
"Yeah, well let's just hope that he is a hunk and cam take me next, I haven't had any action for months" she laughed
"You're a dork," I laughed back "Well no news, this was a boring shift. Hopefully, your shift will be more interesting, " I added, grabbing my bag and putting my coffee in the sink
"Hope not," she laughed. "I'll see you tonight," she said, waving
"Bye, girl," I said
"Byeee," she replied
I walked out to my car and began the drive back home.
Man, today just feels off. It's probably the stupid newspaper article, but it just seems like it's going to be a weird day, I thought.
I pulled into my driveway, almost running over the neighbours cat, causing me to gasp and run out to apologise. Yes, to apologise to a cat. Sir, Nibbles is the best grey cat ever.
After a quick pet of sir nibbles, I walk inside and throw my bag on the couch. I walk into my bedroom and get changed into some sweat pants and a baggy shirt. As I plop on my bed, the exhaustion hits me like a ton of bricks, making me fall asleep almost instantly
I wake up groggily and check my phone to see two missed calls from Ryan, so I immediately call him back.
"Hey, sorry I was sleeping," I said
"That's okay, I was calling to say hi and see how you're doing," Ryan said sweetly
"Yeah, work was super boring, and I read an article on the paper that has freaked me out all morning," I replied
