A luxurious Bentley car traced the rubber track, heading towards the Maeklong riverside garden house of Sathaban, the night mogul, before the thick hand turned the steering wheel and entered the concrete road, following the coordinates displayed on the car's screen. It passed by tall swaying trees that danced with the wind, welcoming the guests.
"The entrance to your father's garden house looks very shady, just like this path." Suriyen, who served as a guide for the little person, swept his dark eyes on both sides of the road, admiring the rows of small and big plants arranged in a line.
Earlier today, Salin received a call from his father, asking him to invite his boyfriend to spend the night at the garden house after their previous plans were canceled due to an accident where the little person almost drowned and ended up in the hospital. They had just slept for a short while when they woke up, quickly showered, packed their clothes, had a hurried breakfast, and immediately rushed to Amphawa District.
"Yes, this area has a lot of trees. Sometimes it looks shady, but sometimes it looks scary, especially when it rains heavily. Fortunately, in the past two or three years, there have been streetlights unlike before, so when the sun sets, there is enough moonlight to illuminate the way." The little person said as they walked.
"And have you visited the garden house often?"
"When I was a child, Papa and Mama used to bring me and Thara to stay here often. In the morning, Auntie would cook delicious meals for the whole family. After breakfast, we would help each other plant flowers and trees until the entire area was filled. After having lunch, we would nap, read books, or watch movies together. And at night, we would sit by the riversidepagoda and watch fireflies. Talking about it now, I miss those days." Their bright eyes shimmered with nostalgia and a soft smile.
"I wish to have that kind of time." Suriyen smiled.
From childhood to adulthood, he rarely had the opportunity to spend time with his family. That was because his parents worked all the time. He used to feel sad, but nothing improved. So, he tried to understand their careers. Suriyen then made a decision that if he had a family, he would not let his children live alone. He knew well the pain of a false sense of security. Fortunately, he was lucky to have a younger brother, Tinkorn, who always created smiles and laughter for him when they had to be together.
"I will make sure Phii sun has that kind of time." Salin moved his hand to rest on the thigh of the tall man, before his warm hand gently cupped the smaller hand with gratitude.
"You are always lovely, thank you for your love." the somber face turned and gave a smile filled with sentiments to the person beside him.
Thanks to destiny for sending such a good man to love and care for him.
"Because Little Lin loves you, Phii sun." a cute smile blossomed on the pale pink cheeks.
"Do you use Little Lin to represent yourself?" he teased. "Yes, you do, but only when we are together."
He just missed the whispering voice of the little one calling himself "Little Lin". He wanted to break the barrier and hold the little one close, to comfort him from now on.
"Can you do that? Please?" The big hand squeezed the strong thigh, before moving straight to the target and gently caressed it, soothing the swirling emotions of the older one.
"Do you want to park somewhere?" he glanced around to find a secluded place, while occasionally stealing glances at the pale figure who seemed to be gradually melting."Just kidding!" Salin quickly pulled his hand back. Because, judging from the situation, the tall man meant it.
"Just thinking if it's for sure."
Suriyen continued to drive for a while before he saw a long wooden fence in front of him. On the fence, there was a gold-lettered wooden sign that stood out, saying "Sathaban Garden."
"Why is it called Sathaban Chandra Garden?" asked the tall man with curiosity.
"It comes from the name of my father and mama" replied the sweet-faced man, "Sathaban is the name of his father. As for Chandra, it comes from the name Sasi, my mothers, which translates to 'moon.' So, they took it and arranged it to sound more melodious, and then named the house after his wedding gift from his aunt."
"Here it is." Suriyen said with a pause.
"Phii Sun, you can park the van next to the car over there." Salin pointed his finger towards the parking lot where there was already a parked SUV.
Oh! Isn't Grandpa coming?
Relief washed over Lin, thinking that there was going to be a nerve- wracking battle at the garden home.
Salin let out a sigh of relief when he didn't see his grandfather's SUV, the dignified symbol. Because if he were to come, it meant that their visit to the garden home this time wasn't just for relaxation, but it was a test of their true feelings.
Phew!
As the car came to a steady stop in the garage, Suriyen breathed out with joy and encouragement. Those sitting beside the driver exchanged sneaky smiles, expressing their anticipation and collaboration.
