Light

I was lured out of my sleep. Confusion quickly settled in. I was no longer in a bed, but lying in a dark void. I made my way onto my feet. I looked around cautiously. The blade was completely black. Making my white skin and hair stand out.

"Hello, I'm glad you came." A voice echoes in my ear, so hard to hear, but their words pierce my ears.

"Who- Who's there!" I called out getting into a defensive position. My body is stiff as I glance through the darkness.

"I am right in front of you, but I know you can't see me. You are Light Steve... I hope my presence doesn't scare you." They explain to me. I took a step back.

"What do you want- how do you know my name?" I question the invisible being I have to trust is in front of me.

"I know all the steves, though none of you are my creation. I am seeking your help."

"Why should I help you?" I kept myself tense in case it attacked.

"I can give you something in return. Knowledge. I can answer any question that you wish Light Steve." They say. I still heard no footsteps, no sign of movement other than my own. Anything?... anything at all? I paused thinking about it.

What would I need an answer to?

How to be rid of the darkness, was the first one that came to mind. It's the only one that makes sense. It's the only question with an answer that would be beneficial.

"Can you answer me how to defeat the darkness? The one plaguing the Steves?" I asked them.

"Maybe, is it what you can do or everyone?"

"What I can do. If I can defeat the darkness." If I can do this on my own. No other lives will be at risk.

"I will tell you my answer, but do you promise to help me correct?" They question.

"Yes. I will. What do you know." I relax and corsage my arms, my body is still tense, but not as tense as before.

"You have not tampered much with your abilities. The more you explore them, the more you will find their strength against the darkness." They speak clearly to me. I looked down at my hands, a bit angry at first, but yes. Yet they are right.

I don't know most of what my abilities have to offer.

"Protect Sabre." I looked around for them.

"Sabre? But he is infected by darkness! He doesn't need protection!" I called out to them, the world began to fade.

"Protect him, protect him from all of you."

Then I woke up.

Back in my bed. The morning sun reflected on my face. I quickly sat up and got out of bed, no time to think too much about it. I got a busy day- and if what they said was true.

I need to perfect my unknown abilities
