CHAPTER SIX : POINT BLANK DESTINY
season 1 episode 2🝮
JAMIE'S HEAD THROBBED AS he slowly regained conciseness, a dull ache spreading through his skull. Everything around him was cold, dark, and damp. His eyes fluttered open, struggling to adjust to the lack of sunlight in the cave. For a moment his thoughts were muddled, and he couldn't remember how he gotten here.
His breath quickened once the memories flooded back—the Wendigo, its twisted, inhuman appearance lunging at him. The chilling memory made him move, but his arms were suspended above him, above the ground, tightly bound with rough rope that bit his skin.
Panic surged through him once he realized he was tied up. His breath quickened, and he tugged against the restraints but it felt like the rope grew tighter with each movement. The more he struggled to free himself, the more the rope burned his wrists. He let out a hiss of pain before stopping briefly, when he did, he heard another groan. But not from him.
Jamie turned his head as best as he could to see through the darkness. Next to him, he saw Dean and then next to him was Hailey. Both were like him, bound by the wrists and strung up like Halloween decorations. However, both were still knocked out, their heads slumped forward. The three of them captured. Helpless.
The kid only tugged at the restraints tighter, gritting his teeth, doing his best to ignore the burning feeling in his arms. He needed to get free. He needed to do something. But his limbs felt like lead, weak and trembling from exhaustion, and his mind only raced from fear. He had imagined what it would be like to fight side by side with the others, with Alice, to be the one who helped.
Instead, he was tied up. Waiting to be saved. This wasn't how he pictured it.
"Cmon, Jamie." He muttered to himself through clenched teeth. He twisted his wrists his wrists, trying I get some kind of movement. It only resulted in more pain and he felt blood trickle down his arm. Jamie was too drained, too worn down. His breaths came faster, panic rising with every failed attempt to free himself.
This wasn't how it was supposed to go. He wasn't supposed to be strung up like a stab of meat, like a victim, waiting to be rescued. He was supposed to help.
With a strangled gasp, he stopped, slumping against his restraints. His vision darkened at the edges, and his breathing became ragged, chest heaving as exhaustion pressed down on him. What echoed in his mind was weak and helpless, the words taunting him.
A lump in his throat formed, and he squeezed his eyes shut, fighting back the hot sting of tears. With as much strength as he could muster, his head turned back over to Dean and Hailey. He wanted to prove himself and save the day, but he wasn't strong enough. But only one could.
His mind wandered to Alice. She'd know what to do. She always did. She'd find him. She'd save him like she always had. Right?
Alice.
Her name was the last thing he clung to as his small frame sagged in the restraints. His energy drained. His breathing slowed and the edges of his vision blurred until the world around him faded completely. Darkness swallowed him whole as he passed out once more, leaving him in cold, numbing silence.

Alice held onto her walkie, waiting to hear Jamie's voice again. Wanting to hear it. Her eyes closed as she walked around the forest, behind Sam and Ben.
