CHAPTER TWELVE : TOLD YOU SO
season 1 episode 4

🝮

THE MOTEL BATHROOM WAS SMALL AND DINGY, but Alice didn't mind. She stood in front of the mirror, taking in the sight of herself in a crisp, fitted black pantsuit. The tailored blazer hugged her shoulders and nipped at the waist, giving her an authoritative silhouette she'd come to embody with her usual clothing but this was different. Underneath, Alice wore a white button-up shirt with the top button undone, lending enough comfort without sacrificing professionalism. Her usual long necklace chain that kept a key at the end was replaced with her other necklace with was just a silver one that had a diamond shaped end to it with an oval turquoise in the middle.

Alice would go and pull her brunette hair into a low ponytail, some strands of hair were still out, but the hairstyle exposed the sharp angles of her face that were usually hidden under loose waves. Afterwards, she went to fiddle with the cuffs, ensuring they maintained a casual yet professional look and also making sure they weren't constricting to her.

"Hi," she spoke up, taking in the sight of her in the mirror, her voice hushed in a murmur. "Special Agent Sara Gamble. FBI." Her voice had a hint of sarcasm while practicing saying her alias, though it felt comical with an unexpected thrill to it.

Alice only continued to look at herself in the mirror, feeling slightly ridiculous but also unable to repress her grin. "Special Agent Sara Gamble. FBI," she repeated to herself, testing out the name again while taking out her fake badge in a quick motion. Alice would snicker and went to smooth out her hair. "Not bad, Colt. Not bad." She murmured out, checking herself out, letting out a low whistle of approval.

"Hey, Alice!" Sam's voice spoke up from the other side of the door. "You can come out now!"

"Kay'!" Alice replied back, adjusting herself once more. Satisfied at her appearance and her approving glance, she turned and opened the bathroom door. Alice stepped out where she saw Sam and Dean, now in their suits she gotten him, the sight causing her to let out a small snort, mainly towards Dean.

"Man, I look like one of the Blues Brothers." The eldest Winchester spoke up, adjusting the collar of his suit, clearly uncomfortable.

Behind at the motel table, Jamie snickered, only watching Dean.

"You look more like a... seventh-grader at his first dance," Sam remarked, teasing his brother which only added more to Jamie and Alice's laughter.

"Yeah, man," Alice chimed in, her eyes sparkling with mirth. "Looks like you're going to some prom. Did you remember to buy a corsage?"

Jamie let out a quiet snort, trying unsuccessfully to hide his laughter. Dean turned around, shooting the kid a quick glare. Jamie would look away, back to his notebook on the table, hiding his smile before Dean looked away to Alice.

"Yeah? Well, you look..." He would begin, taking in the sight of the woman before him, looking at her pantsuit and how she was polished and professional now, the suit fitting her in the right places. Dean would feel a pang of annoyance at the realization as he continued to find the words. "You look... like a cheap knockoff of Scully or something." He finally said, looking elsewhere as he fidgeted with the collar once again.

Alice smirked, her eyes sparkling with amusement, glancing down at her outfit before nodding. "Eh, I'll take it. Gillian Anderson's hot too." She replied with an unbothered shrug, looking over at Sam who smiled.
