I was conscious in August, sometime when I was taking care of my friends' dog, chuck chuck, he was a 8 month year old Labrador.
As soon as my friend announced that he was going to travel out of state, I was happy to take chuck chuck off his hands. He said I was first to offer and was excited to accept. "Walk him twice a day, " was his only condition. He dropped everything at my place and left a cheerful man. "Safe trip." I responded, happy to help. Not regarding the extra charm he took from me. He left me with an information sheet.
Something about not feeding him too much.
I thought this was going to be a treat.
For three months, I decided to keep chuck chuck and take on the task of taking care of him. One day in celebration of his company, I decided it was right to take him. It was out order to to have him adapt to his new environment inside.
For a dog and a temporary new owner, it would be difficult to acclimate in an apartment.
Fairly consciousness is the level of awareness to make changes in my life. I tried to shift the interior of my apartment twice so far. Chuck chuck seems to like it, after dinner, he always lays down under the makeshift desk I created. He looks calm and content to the alterations happening around him. As was I.
I'm in the neighbourhood of a famous dog park and I've been wanting to join the clan of dog walkers ever since I have moved here.
We were in the area, close to the trees and the smell of bark, when a lady and her dog were walking in the distance. I was thrilled. This is my story now. I look like a great dog owner. My character obliges.
As soon as I made notice of them, I imagined the interaction would be a racket outside the park. I became somewhat worried. Inside the vicinity would be better date.
I'm not a dog walker but I know how excited they can get at this age.
I quickly became very mindful of my surroundings. It appears that a dog can sense whatever air particle changed its compound, as long as he was concerned with it. His brain could log in every level of perception, and would know if a plant would change its wind.
My dog was busy sniffing the ground, he seemed to take notice of the other dog, looked up for a second, but didn't care. I sighed, relieved that he isn't easily influenced.
The moment we were in the park, I did not let go of my leash, I thought it would be smart since we didn't know of each other. We both liked it. I thought this was the treat.
At the park there were a lot of dogs, of all sizes. Some of them were beyond comprehension. The park was large, with trees that are massive for miles, elongating our walk. It was a friendly park for dogs, I'm sure chuck chuck will appreciate it. Though he was starting to pull on my leash as soon as as we arrived.
I became apprehensive. But careful with my assertion. Chuck chuck is a friendly dog, but he is also big in size. He could tower me, any chance, if I tried my luck.
I took notice of the dangers, the trash, the streets, and this enormous pitbull. His owner looked more troublesome. They were both walking , intimidating the other dogs with their posture. I decided to walk in the smaller section of the park. Looks like I'm keeping the leash on. "What a shame, chuck chuck." I stated. Better safe than sorry.
I didn't want to cause us any attention. I put my hood on and marched the other direction. Confident that no one will attempt to greet my dog.
I opened his box of treats and remembered what my friend said about not feeding him too much. I gave him a treat for being a good dog, but he didn't take notice.
"You want a treaty, chuck chuck?" I tried. he looked up disobediently, I knew something was up when he went back to sniffing. Completely ignoring the treat. I've never seen this before. Dogs never reject food, especially not treaties. Then, I saw it. Her presence was glamorous in front of the yard. They were all barking at her, loud in thrashing. My dog started to charge but tugging at the leash. All the other dogs seemed to be respectful of their owner. They know not to advance. Great level of awareness I hoped chuck chuck would mimic. I tried to alert him to it, but I could tell he was deeply mesmerised.
So, I alternated between copying their manner and tugging. I gave a smilier understanding smile and waved. I scratched my head, clueless as to how administer this situation. What my hands are going through right now. I chuckled, dogs, huh. Crazy distracted dogs.
I then tried to lead chuck chuck the other way when he's barking became louder than most. I was in high level of alertness, I could thank him. My consciousness was very demur.
I was distracted for one second when he started to attack. The cat was riling him on. I thought it was weird there was a cat in this park, but before I could finish my thought, she crossed the street in panic.
Similarly, my dog followed with no judgement.
Feral, no longer a pet, my dog renounced his collar. It broke free when he bolted across the streets, cars swaying to avoid him. I saw it was only mandatory to also resign my post as a dog owner. The leash jolted and I let go. I dashed behind them. No attempt of civilisation whatsoever.
I almost died crossing the streets behind them. Cars honking in disarray.
I could've died trying to save the cat.
My dog is fast, I've never seen such speed. It was almost admirable. He ran like he was hunting.
The cat took refuge in a tree. She jumped three times before hiding underneath a branch, you can still make out her shape.
My dog is feral. He did not give up. I was almost scared approaching him. I saw God, and he waved. CHUCK CHUCK! I shouted, I knew then I sounded stupid mentioning his name. This wasn't my dog. He didn't look like a pet.
I was watching nature in its element, and I was naively interrupting. People were looking annoyed at me, as if it was my job to tame this beast. I looked back quizzical. I look like the worst dog owner, but I was ready to confess he wasn't mine.
