"Bataya toh tha abhii.. Kasam se itna hi hua hai hamare beech"
Dia almost lost her count of how many times she's been telling the same story over and over again. Her friends seemed to be dissatisfied by her narrating.
(I just said it now..)

"Nahi, itni se baat pe kon chidata hai yaar?" Kashvi gave her a wry look.
(No, who even teases for this?)

"In case if you've forgotten, boys se toh baat bhi nahi karni chahiye. Above all that pata hai humne kitni baat ki hai jab hum CR's the? Isliye chidate hai"
Dia explained further. As per the rule sheet given, Girls were not permitted to talk to boys and vice-versa but gradually it became clear that they could, atleast in front of everyone and not in a confined space like most of them do.

(We are not even permitted to talk to boys. Above all that, do you even know how we used to talk when we were class representatives back then? That's the reason they tease us.)

"Mai rationally bolu to-" Maher raised her palms as a defensive tactic.
(If I say rationall-)

"Tu mat bol, wahi better hai" Dia warned her. She knew what the other one was gonna say, she can either be mocking their not-so-lovely story or can even pull off something like "aise kya dekh liya usmee??"
(You keep shut, it will be better)

"Guys.. Hostel mai average bande bhi hot lagte hai. Fight me if no, proof is among us" Brushing her hair, Heer gave a 'what?' look when Dia shot a sharp glare.

(Guys.. Even average guys look hot in hostels)

"Huh!! Maano ya nahi par yahi hua hai. Woh bas registers dene aata tha and he used to blush- uhmm.. no!! smile. isilye chidate the.. And I agree that I liked him.." She paused for a bit thinking of a more better word.

(Agree or not it's the truth. He did come to me for registers)

"Like matlab wo wala 'like' nahi!!! Yeh alag hai, Chota wala 'like'...Matlab, 'like' ke niche kuchh hai kya??"
Making it even worse, Dia buried her face in the pillow next to her. She knew she couldn't explain her exact feelings towards him.

(It isn't the usual 'like'!! This is different, little less than 'like'... I mean is there anything more less than like??)

"Ha hai naa.. Meri bra" Maher countered flashing her tee which had a 'like a girl I am' printed on it. The others sighed.

(Yeah there is.. My bra)

"Suno sab.. Iska dimag mai kya falooda ban gaya hum ni jaante par Krish ko toh ispe pakka wala feelings tha.. Mai bata rhi hu.." A girl emerged from the bathroom carrying her washed socks. All girls agreed to her with a long "haaa"

(Listen everyone.. We don't know what's wrong with her but krish did have real feelings for her.. I bet)

"Krish kon ab?" Maher asked bemused. The never-ending boys list pissed her off. Soon the whole dorm turned to her and gave a deadpanned look.
(Who's krish now?)

"Abey yaarrr" Dia kicked her feet in air in utter irritation. Talking to them was indeed her test of patience.

"Krishank.. ab thik??" The girl shook her head at the lack of brain of her fellow mate.

"Ha toh poora bolo na.. Krish ushh kya hota hai" Maher defended herself. The phrase she always believed in was that that 'girls over guys' and she couldn't agree for more.

(So say it full.. What's krish ushh)

Especially in boarding schools where a huge 'CO-ED' banners stand, you must get that huge inequality and unfairness is gonna follow and tadaa!! the girls are the victim. From dress code to expressing ourselves, everything is decided by the so-called authorities.
