"Hey thoda left side baith jaana okay" Dia turned quickly to confirm that it was for her and looked at the guy behind. He was Digvijay, she must've talked to him once as she remembered.
(Hey! Sit a bit left okay)

"Pehle apni paper mai kuch toh likh lu.." She smiled nervously at him. Knowing somehow that she'll not allow him to copy from her and ridicule her thereafter by reading her answers. The previous week was enough for her to deal with.
(Let me atleast write something in my paper..)

"Chal jhooti.. Mujhe toh lag raha hai ki tumne sab kuch padha hai.."
He gave her a judgemental look and smirked at her. Digvijay was always a softie. He avoided harsh words and abrupt gestures, preferring to navigate the world with a quiet grace. He chose listening over talking and was quite good at it. He wanted to talk to Dia as he was convinced that she too was a tender-hearted soul as him. But as the situation was not really in his hands, he kept mum. Still he did acknowledge how her fingers trembled when boys at the last bench roared with laughter just after Krishank's angry outburst.

(You lier! I feel that you're done studying everything)

Dia turned completely to his side. Tapping her pen on his desk, she squinted at him. "Achha? Aur tumhe aise kyu lag raha hai?" She questioned looking straight into his eyes. His eyes were coal black and held a depth of empathy and understanding. To avoid distraction, she blinked and looked around.

(Oh really? And why do you think so?)

Digvijay simply pointed at her dark circles and smiled. Dia wanted to defend herself, but finding none, she covered her face with a palm being embarrassed, to which Digvijay burst out laughing.

"Your friend got a new guy it seems" Krishank mumbled to Heer who sat just in front of him. His eyes not leaving Dia even for a minute. He was more interested in Digvijay now.

"Yeah!! Someone more better than the previous shit she liked" Heer too mumbled, still looking at Dia.

"Excuse me?" He turned to her baffled. Dia liked him?? Yeah! He knew.. But did her friend just address him as shit? Yes.. How could she?

"I said what I said" Heer looked forward not before flipping her extra long plait to his side. He badly needed to know his place and she was always there to show him the same.

"Yuck.. Pull it back" Krishank slid her hair with his index finger. This whole squad was lunatic.

With a swift moment, Heer turned back again but this time with a pen. "Phir dobara mere saamne kisiko yuck-suck bola na-" She pointed her trimax right at his crotch and gestured to stab him there.

(Dare you say yuck-suck to someone in front of me again)

He leaned back immediately with a dirty look and Heer did it too. Just then, the invigilator arrived and started distributing question paper booklet. Heer started chanting all the mantras she knew. Because of this fool she had forgotten to pray and he's gonna pay for it.

"Scared Ms. Upadhyay? Btw I may help you" Krishank whispered tilting his head. He thought this might help him get some news about dia here and there.

"Oh! Really? Phir toh mujhe fail hona manzur hai.." Heer whispered. She was so done with this mf behind thinking as if he was the only apsara in between them. He smacked the table once and started writing. It was hard, so hard to make it up with these girls.

(I'd rather choose to fail then)

At one ring of the bell, pens flew across the pages as they methodically worked through the problems. Students who knew the exam strategy very well quickly scanned the questions, mentally categorizing them by topic and difficulty level. Allocating the appropriate time and attention to each section, they started filling up their sheet.
