Iya's POV
Kara was dragging me making me hit and bump, sometimes forgetting I could not see. She would throw apologies here and there but her urgency remains constant. What has happened to Pietro?
It is such a big palace because it is taking us long to get to Pietro. But something odd is happening to me. As Kara is running and dragging me along, I could now avoid obstacles along the way because my eyes could catch a glimpse of light. It was very blurred at first. I winked and winked. Could it be? Am I starting to see? How?
We could hear shouting now. The closer we are to the commotion, the better my vision gets. I do not know what to feel now, joy over the improvement in my vision, or fear as to what has happened to Pietro.
"Alpha Pietro, please stop!"
"No, alpha. Stop!"
"Stop him! Help him!"
"We need to get the luna. She can stop this!"
"Do not touch me!"
Screams of women haunt my ears. "Kara, quick, we need to get to him!"
"We are almost there, luna!" Kara replied.
As Kara pulled me through a back door, everything became clear to me, the screams, the shouting, the pain! Because there by a tall fairy statue, Pietro is using his bare hands to knock the statue down. He is bombarding the stone with his shoulders. He punches it. He would kneel and use his bare hands to dig the ground to uproot the thing. On and on, relentless until he has achieved his goal. He is sweating, badly bruising and heavily bleeding especially in the knuckles. I could not breathe.
And I saw it all... with my own eyes.
I miraculously regained my sight, only to witness this!
"Pietro! Stop this at once!" My voice boomed and everyone quieted.
Pietro dropped on his knees and looked at me helplessly, shaking his head. He looked forlorn but my, oh my, what a gorgeous man he is.
"Do not interfere, Iya! I have to destroy this with my own hands! I do not want to see this ever again! I do not want to be reminded of how I lost you, how the werewolves lost you!" Pietro cried.
I ran towards him, knelt with him. I threw my arms around his chest to support him.
"Please, I beg you. Do not hurt yourself anymore." I beseeched as tears fall.
"I want it gone!" Pietro wept in anguish but still pressed on his goal.
"Then allow me to help you." I dared. I stood up and used my hands to push the stubborn fairy statue. I punched it just like how I saw him do it, waiting if it affects him.
In no time, Pietro is holding me in a tight embrace. "Stop. I get your point now, just stop and I'll stop."
Pietro is still oblivion to the fact that I could see now.
"You are badly wounded. You need a doctor." I informed him as I massage his knuckles.
"It will heal." Then it dawned on him. "Wait! You can see? Tell me you can see! Iya, can you see? Is your sight back?" Pietro excitedly fired away.
"I do not know how, but yes, I can see!" I smiled at him but he looked happier really.
Pietro lifted me and spun me as the people around us clapped and cried.
"This is just how it happened with me. I was born blind but when I met you, slowly my vision came back. I was the harsh and uncompromising blind alpha back then. You made me see, Iya." Pietro shared.
"It must be you, too, who made me see." I concluded.
"Because we are mates. Because we bring out the best in each other. Because we loved each other." Pietro added.
I surprised us both when I initiated our kiss. Pietro returned the kiss. The people cheered!
"Leave us." Pietro commanded and soon it was just us in that area.
"What the hell is this that you were trying to knock down?" I asked as I remembered I was curious about this.
"After the great war, the council, my parents, Kieran, and basically everybody convinced me to construct a tomb for you. In that way, they said, everyone who loved you will have the closure we all needed. I never wanted this. Diana designed your statue as a fae. General Agog organized the construction. They placed the gown you wore on your luna ceremony inside a casket and buried it at the foot of the statue." Pietro sadly narrated.
"Werewolves would surround this place with flowers. Many weep here when they miss you. But I could never bring myself to this place. I do not want to accept it. I knew you were not dead. I despised this place because it stood as a reminded that you are not here anymore. But now, my love, you have returned. I want it demolished and replaced with an orchidarium that you so loved." Pietro gathered me in his arms and I willingly embraced him back.
"Destroy it if you must, but please, use machines to knock it off. Let the warriors do it. Let your frustrations and hurt go away now. And Pietro, if I am who you say I am, I am sorry for not remembering any of it. How I wish I could remember and love you back the way you deserved to be loved. I am still adjusting to all these and I have Sonia to think about." I bared.
Sonia!
I clang to Pietro's collar out of excitement, "I want to see Sonia. I want to see my daughter!"
He smiled and kissed my head, "our daughter." He corrected.
"Wait, you cannot let Sonia see you like this. She will worry with all the blood and bruise on you. You know she dotes on you." I said.
"She's a Da's girl. My princess." Pietro said with pride. "Fine, I will join you two after I healed and cleaned up. Go have your mother-daughter bonding time. Then after, let's have our husband-wife bonding time as well." Pietro winked as he led me back to the palace.
Upon seeing my scumpa, I now understood Aunt Lale's conviction. Sonia is really a split of Pietro and I. I am overjoyed that I could see now. Is this the moon goddess's work? If yes, then thank the moon goddess!
So many things point that I AM the luna queen, Pietro's mate, and the Iya they all knew. Only two things hinder our way...my lost memory and powers.
