Bhumi's POV:

As usual, I woke up late. Let me tell you, I am not an early bird. I love to sleep in, most mornings.

Also, I had a very nice sleep last night, dreaming about my very handsome prince charming. The villain of my life had poisoned me, and my knight in shining armour saved me.

Lame? I know! But I have nothing to lose from dreaming, right? I don't have to pay taxes to see such awesome dreams, so why shouldn't I?

Hell! I don't even have a villain in my story, let alone a prince charming.

My life is so boring!

Arohi and Bani already left for work. Traitors! I saw a note on the fridge.

'Good morning lazy butt. We are off to work, come quick if you don't want to get fired.'

Why the hell do they say good morning when mornings are never good? I groaned as I stretched to relieve my muscles. I quickly showered and got ready in my comfy kurti and leggin.

So, my shift starts an hour later than Arohi's and Bani's. Well, because Arohi is a pastry chef, she needs to be there early to bake. And Bani helping with the accounts also needs to be there before the main desk is set up. Me being the waitress can go an hour later, just in time for the customers. But I need to stay an hour later than Arohi, though. Bani is the lucky one. She gets to adjust with her schedule. Some days she gets to go in early and get out earlier. And some days, vice versa.

I reached the cafe soon and saw a commotion there. I went in and spotted Bani and Arohi. I saw that Bani was already in tears and Arohi had an anxious look on her face. I swear, if Bani is crying because of that guy following her around, wanting to make her his girlfriend, I am going to kill him with my own hands. No one messes with my friends.

"What happened, Bani?" I asked as I hurried towards her.

"We lost our job," she said, and I looked at her in horror.

"What do you mean by losing your job? I mean, we all? How?" I asked, not understanding anything.

"Some big shot bought the cafe, and we all lost our jobs," Arohi said anxiously.

"How can they just fire us like that? Without any notice. That is not fair," I argued to no one in particular.

"Bhumi," I saw the manager of the cafe coming towards us.

"Yes, Sir," I said through clenched teeth.

"Here is a message for you," he said, handing me an envelope, and walked away.

I opened the envelope to see a folded paper inside. I opened the envelope with apprehension, and it read:

'Aww! Kitten got fired.

-Aryamann Mehrotra.'

I clenched my teeth, realising who it was that got us all fired. How the hell did he even find me? It has almost been a week since my encounter with Mr. Mehrotra. And I thought he was done with this. Oh boy! How wrong I was!

"What's it, Bhumi?" Arohi asked, and I turned to them with a grim face.

"Listen, Bani, stop crying. We will not lose this job. I will deal with this. Okay? Trust me," I said, and Bani nodded.

"What are you talking about? How are you going to deal with this?" Arohi asked curiously.

"Arohi, this is a bait for me. Mr. Mehrotra found me," I said, and they both looked at me in horror.
