I woke up from a nine-hour sleep, unaware of what all the rumbling outside was about. I guess I was a little loopy, and I was of course tired since I just woke up, which didn't help, but now I remember what all that sound was. people were mad at the king for all of his mistreatment and the fact he would always slip out of situations that looked bad for him. That had finally caught up with him it would seem, the people had finally had enough; the king had always found a way around things, it seemed like he would never get noticed for them, but for the last week, we had remembered.

Alright, here's what's going on - I'm Jordan, and our kingdom is one of the most advanced there is, but of course, it's been a rocky road, and it still is very rough, as is evident by the protest. Our king Pierce was not appreciated. From what I have heard, his father was appreciated, but I wasn't alive in those days. The king didn't have much in terms of protection at this point, most of his military was against him, and the only ones protecting him were his knights and a small portion of the military that didn't turn against him. although with the military on our side we could easily overrun them, nobody wanted violence, and of course no one was willing to enter the castle.

The kingdom is located on a mountain range, and it seemed like there was always a problem. Whenever we had enough food for everyone, something political was happening and vice versa, and any other problems that kingdoms have that you can imagine probably happened at least once in our lifetimes. This was home though.

As I went down the ladder to the rest of my house, I inspected the bags and my gear yet again, just to give myself a clear reminder of what was next. I walked up to my desk and finished my 500th poster. Or something along those lines. As for about four months the kingdom had been in a state of protest, it became rather difficult to find a job, so Me and my best friend Ronald resorted to selling posters for people to use in the protests. Ronald and I had been united by something we both loved; art. We decided it would be in our best interest to make posters, including selling blank canvases, since those were also in a higher demand than usual, as people of course would also use those to voice their opinion.

As I placed a blank canvas I just finished off to the side, I heard a familiar voice from beyond the door. "Jordan?" That was Ronald. "Come in, Ronald!" the door opened and he walked in, energized, and I knew why. "Well, are you ready?" He asked. "Not quite, give me one second." He exited the door, and he was probably headed back home while he waited for me. Now here's something I didn't mention earlier. I wasn't very into politics. I'm glad that it seemed the king would finally get taught a lesson, but I had no interest in participating, just like Ronald. Now we may have sold posters, but that was just for money - we needed it just to survive. it was probably illegal what we were doing, but the king probably was just as mad at everyone for all the protesting as he would have been with me. We decided not to protest as two people wouldn't make a difference. If I was in a more Noble position, I would probably try to help. I wouldn't be the kind of guy to overthrow the king, or hell, even hurt him, I'd just make sure he learns to be more accepting of others. I was not a harsh person and I would help others whenever possible.

All of the protesting did not change my attitude - we were looking forward to today. This was the day Ronald and I were to head to the nearby Dragon Forest. Dragon Forest was the only real forest within hundreds of miles, but most people didn't venture out to it. Not that it was dangerous (supposedly) but most people didn't have the equipment or much of a need too. However, today was the day, Ronald and I had planned for months, and this was the day we would go explore it. Dragon Forest was, according to legend, named due to it's high dragon population. Dragons were not a common sight here; a single one passed by every five years. On the rare occasion it did appear, the whole kingdom would gather at a special lookout to see the majestic beast. Although this kingdom was arguably the most advanced in the world, no civilization in the world is know to have captured a dragon. They aren't hostile, but they are quick and very rare. As I mentioned earlier, Dragon Forest was supposedly full of them, and although that meant anybody in the kingdom could go there and see a dragon, which was considered a rare sight, most people didn't have the supplies to do so. But Ronald and I had saved up for months, and we spent every last penny preparing.
