It has been 3 days ever since Jack has mysteriously disappeared. The entire school has begun wondering what happened to him. His parents have called the police about it, but even they have no idea what happened. Today, Sean was walking down the hall, hearing the mindless gossip and chatter that filled the halls.
"Do you think he was kidnapped?"
"Maybe, it would make the most sense after all."
"Yeah, but by who?"
"I hear they didn't even ask for a ransom!"
"What!? No way!"
Sean kept thinking about his friend's disappearance. All he got was a letter that somehow wound up on his desk one day. It read that Jack will now be fighting for the world. What did that mean?Later during lunch break, Sean carried his food past table after table, looking for an empty seat. Then from the corner of his eye, he found Mary, sitting alone in a corner table. Heading over, he saw her face, pale and gloomy.
"Mary, are you alright?"
"Huh? Oh, sorry, I must look like a wreck. It's just, I never knew that Jack would end up missing somehow. I'm just worried about him, that's all."
"Well, I'm sure that he'll be found eventually. I mean, he can't stay missing forever, right?"
"Yeah, I guess you're right."
In a while, after they've finished eating, Sean decided to ask her a question.
"Hey, Mary, have you gotten a strange letter?"
"A strange letter? Now that you mention it, yeah I have."
"...Was it about Jack?"
"Yes! How did you know?"
"Because I got a letter just like that too!"
They took out their letters and compared them. Indeed, they had the same hand-writing, and even had exactly the same words written on it.
"Mary, what do you think this means?"
"I don't know, but it must've been written by whoever kidnapped Jack!"
Right at that instant, another friend of theirs, Kyle, happened to come along.
"Oh hey guys? What are you two up to?"
"We're going to go and look for Jack ourselves." Sean stated.
"But, even the police can't find them. Do you think we'll find any clues at all?"
"Wait, we? So does that mean you're gonna help us?" Mary asked.
"Of course! Jack is my friend too, and I'm worried about him just as much as you guys are.""So, which one is gonna be our next target?" asked a boy with red hair.
"We'll choose that boy. He seems very intent on finding our Lizard King." said a boy wearing a black cloak.
"Well if you say so. I just hope he'll adjust as well as Jack did on his first day."Outside the school gates, the three friends have agreed to meet up later at Kyle's house. As they all left, Sean was wondering what might have happened to Jack in the first place. As he walked down the city streets, he spied something in a narrow alleyway. Stopping and taking another look, he saw what looked like a red-haired boy sprawled on the ground. He wore a blue bandanna on his left arm, a red shirt and pants, and seemed to be knocked out. Without hesitation, he dashed to his side and looked at him.
"Hey, are you alright? Wake up, hey!"
"Uuh..."
"What?"
"Muu...My...Friend...In there..."
The boy pointed down the alleyway, where the tall buildings cast a shadow over the area. Sean, not one who would turn his back on others, made his way down the alleyway, trying to find the boy's friend. When he turned the corner, the boy stood up, dusted himself off, and followed him.
"Heheheh, this is gonna be fun!"
As Sean wondered the dark alleyway, turning every which way the path lead off to. After a while, he finally reached a dead-end, with a boy standing there. He wore a black cloak over his entire body, his black hair being the only thing visible as he faced the wall. Sean approached him.
"Hey, your frind is in trouble back here! C'mon, we have to go and help him!"
"...You..."
"Huh?"
"...It is your turn."
Quickly turning around, the boy placed his hands on the ground, where a blinding light flooded out of the ground, where Sean was standing on.He felt numb, unable to move any part of his body. But also, the light seemed to calm him down a bit, enough so he doesn't panic. A strange feeling is coming all over his body, a tingling sort of feeling. Like a light jolt of electricity is tickling his entire body. Bright-yellow fur was growing all over his body. His hair turned red and grew longer and longer, covering his head all around. Sharp claws grew out of his hands and feet, as a tail burst out of his back side. It was also covered with yellow fur, but had a tuft of red at the tip. His mouth pulled out into a short snout, as fangs replaced the once-human teeth inside. His ears moved to the top of his head, rounded out, and grew fur all over. His eyes pulled into slits, yet remained the same color. As the final changes occured, the light dimmed until Sean found himself in the alleyway once more.
