I write scenes even if (y/n) isn't in them, no matter if his existence changes or doesn't change anything in them. But then again, I may also leave out scenes if I deem them unimportant.

(y/n) wouldn't admit it to Zuko, not in a million years, but he admired the Avatar more than anything. Even if Zuko's goal was to capture the Avatar, (y/n) would absolutely take the chance to see the master of all elements with his own eyes.

(y/n) spied intently as the Avatars and another persons small forms fled back towards the village, before finally disappearing completely from his sight.

(y/n) didn't feel like moving, so he didn't. He only sat down on the deck and waited. The cold air had already stopped bothering him completely.

He played with his hair and fiddled with his clothes, as if trying to calm himself down before he officially met the Avatar. (y/n) felt bad, but at the same time he felt like he could finally live up to those stories in his mother's hand-made book.

Avatar Roku, Avatar Kyoshi and others... but this Avatar (y/n) didn't know about yet. (y/n) knew nothing about him, and that was probably what was starting to worry him.

Suddenly Iroh of all people approached him, "What is on your mind, (y/n)?"  He asked softly, having gotten a break from Zuko's planning and preparing.

"The Avatar," (y/n) simply answered, standing up and giving Iroh a respectful bow just for Iroh to motion for him to sit back down, before Iroh himself sat down next to him.

"You've always wanted to meet him, haven't you? I remember those tales your mother used to tell when you were younger. Maybe you could share a couple of words with the man himself," Iroh spoke as (y/n) shook his head, his expression somewhat sorrowful.

"No. Zuko has a mission, I'd just get in the wa-"

Iroh cut him off, "I think Zuko would let you, if you asked." This time (y/n)'s heart jumped.

"Really?" (y/n) asked as a strangely confident smile appeared on Iroh's face.

"If it will make you happy." Iroh let out a laugh, and (y/n)'s face flushed coral red in embarrassment.

"Please, don't say things like that..." (y/n) could barely say as Iroh apologized halfheartedly.

"Alright, I won't. But do not forget, Zuko thinks of you too." Iroh spoke before leaving (y/n) to sit by himself, deep in thought.

:D

And (y/n) sat there for a long time, even as the ship was approaching a cloud of mist that was covering the village the ship was sailing to. (y/n) sat there until Zuko walked up to you, already clad in full armor.

"You aren't coming?" Zuko asked, as (y/n) stood up and faced Zuko.

"No, I'll stay." (y/n) shook his head, before giving Zuko a respectful bow. Zuko seemed displeased, so (y/n) decided to continue.

"But I'll be watching from here," This time Zuko seemed to accept (y/n)'s words, and headed under the deck without another word while (y/n) moved to the bow of the ship, glancing down as the mist separated away from the ships path.

The first thing (y/n) saw was the embarrassingly small ice walls surrounding the village. Seeing it up close, the village was barely larger than the ship he was currently on.

The ice was cracking, the whole ground shaking as the ship tore the ground apart. The one single watchtower in the village had already collapsed from the tremors, leaving behind a sad pile of ice and snow.

While the villagers scurried to hide in their tents, a single boy face covered in war paint and holding a sword of some sort in his hands stood on top of the wall.
