This chapter gave me a headache, but I enjoyed writing it. :P

"So... (y/n)?" Katara spoke up once Appa had already landed onto an unknown shore to rest. Sokka had fallen asleep like a log even before Aang had set up a campfire with (y/n), and of course the airbender had passed out not much longer after.

Katara was still preparing herself a place to sleep, while (y/n) walked around the shore mindlessly, kicking sand lightly with his hands placed behind his back.

"Yeah?" The boy asked run return, raising his head from staring at his feet to Katara instead.

"I'm still a bit confused why you, well, helped us. Since you were on that ship with that other boy. The one with the scar." Katara said as (y/n) stopped his fiddling completely.

"His name is Zuko. He's my friend and the prince of the Fire Nation, though currently banished. But I still think he should be the next leader of the Fire Nation. He's got everything that his father doesn't, and he's strong, yet a bit impatient. And even though he isn't the kindest, at least he's better than that awful sister of his!" (y/n) started with what Katara didn't consider to be that important information, but the girl still let (y/n) speak his mind.

After (y/n) had given out his opinion on Zuko and his sister, his tone suddenly changed to a strangely confident one, "I'm not a fan of the pointless war the Fire Nation is still keeping up with. I want it to end already. Aang is the Avatar, he's the one that can end this war! I guess I did what I did without thinking."

Katara wasn't sure what to say, so instead she just wore a smile that showed she was glad on her face instead until (y/n) suddenly continued.

"And also... because I'm tired of Zuko. I'm tired of the way he treats me nowadays. I don't want to stay on that ship with him. Not like I could go back anymore though." (y/n) let out a sigh as he finished. Katara stood up from where she was squatting down and setting up a sleeping place for herself, before walking over to (y/n).

"Hey, I trust you, and that's saying a lot because we met yesterday and by a Fire Nation navy ship no less," She started, coming close enough to see (y/n)'s face clearly in the darkness of the night, but not close enough to reach him with her hands.

"But if you're a good guy. Maybe a bit impulsive, but a good guy." Katara smiled, but (y/n) was just surprised.

He was happy Katara trusted him already, but he couldn't wrap his head around the word 'impulsive.' He'd never been called that before. But for some reason, it felt good. And Katara seemed to notice, as she let out a held back giggle before continuing to speak.

"Well, I'm going to sleep, you should too..." Katara suddenly trailed off, realizing (y/n) didn't have a place to sleep. Aang was already sleeping on Appa's saddle, and Katara and Sokka only had one sleeping bag for each of them.

"Where are you going to sleep? We can go collecting hay or leaves, it's not too late to set you a place-" But (y/n) cut Katara off.

"It's alright, really. I'll sleep on the sand. I've had my share of comfortable nights back on the ship, it's time I felt what it's like to sleep outside." Though Katara still thought it was strange, she let the matter slide.

:D

The sun had risen a while ago, yet somehow Sokka was still sleeping soundly in his sleeping bag. Aang and Katara were packing and making sure they were ready to head to the Southern Air Temple. Meanwhile (y/n), who had nothing to pack, was sitting on the ground, watching Appa munch on the grass he had collected for the sky bison.

Apparently Aang had been frozen inside an iceberg for 100 years, before Katara and Sokka happened to discover him only a couple of days ago. It still felt strange to (y/n), but he didn't question.
