▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬Hell hath no fury like a Saffron Mitchell scorned and scorned she felt. She spent the rest of the afternoon positively enraged and there was no chance of her anger tempering. She was left to sat alone in A History of Magic as Hermione was absent from that class. Lavender and Parvati tried to calm her down, telling her that Hermione was okay but Saffron knew better. Hermione might have acted as though she did not care what others cared about her but she did. She just happened to be good at hiding it for the most part but evidently was unable to do so. The words that Ron used against her cut through like a knife and Saffron found herself wanting to cut him right back.
Saffron sat with her head lying on her desk and ranted about Ron in her mind. The level of hypocrisy in his blood was unlike anyone else. He constantly moans about how horribly Harry was treated by Draco and his cronies. But yet, he dragged Hermione's feelings to the ground and stomped all over them. She was a sensitive person, that was no secret. People trodded their toes around Hermione, but that was no excuse for the manner in which he spoke about her.
"I'm sure she's fine," said Parvati after the bell rung out signalling the end classes for the day. The three girls had looked for Hermione during lunch but to no avail. They guessed that she wanted to be alone but they didn't want her to be so. After not finding her, they incorrectly assumed that she would rejoin classes after lunch. But when she didn't they felt worried for her and furious at Harry and Ron.
"I can't wait to write home about how the Harry Potter likes making girls cry," commented Lavender, as the three girls hurried out of the corridor and made their way to the common room to see if Hermione had returned there. "And don't even get me started on Ron, what was it he said, that everybody hates her?"
"Yeah," Saffron practically growled, infuriated by what had gone on after Charms. "Yet she's my friend, and yours and yours... Dean said that Harry and Ron barely even talk to him either. They're the ones with no friends,"
"No friends and enemies," Parvati added to Saffron's point. "I know I don't get on with Pansy but at least we knew each other, he's fallen out with some Slytherins without even knowing them,"
"I'd love to teach them a lesson," said Lavender swiftly. "See how many of his friends come to help him then. Honestly, it's pathetic, especially Ron...he's so obsessed with Harry I wouldn't be surprised if he had posters of him on his wall. Moron,"
After checking their dormitory, Parvati and Lavender said they'd ask around the other dormitories and try and find Alannah, their designated Prefect to try and see if she could help. As they did this, Saffron began her own solo manhunt around the castle in order to find Hermione. She searched the great hall, bathrooms, empty classrooms, courtyards, but all to no avail. For all she knew, she'd walked right past her. Saffron's sense of direction was relevantly non-existent, making it tricky to even know the best places to look.
When she knew it was time for dinner, she went to to the Great Hall. The Halloween feast was that night. It had caused speculation galore amongst the first years. Rumours included a band of singing skeletons, Professor Dumbledore participating in apple bobbing contests and the Weasley twins pulling off their biggest prank yet. Maya had forewarned Saffron of the twins antics but hadn't the faintest as to what their plans were. Hence, as Saffron entered the great hall, she kept half an eye on anything around her, for she didn't want to be on the receiving end of the famous and infamous pranks.
For one of the first times entering the Great Hall, she didn't look to the Ravenclaw table for her sister. But she was focused on finding Hermione. She didn't see her. Despite being met with a smile by Dean, she merely returned the sentiment and headed the other way. She knew he would understand given what had happened. Hermione had to be her sole priority tonight.
