GLEN POWELL
Y/N'S POV
"Listen, you'll be fine, okay? My family is so excited to meet you." Glen says as I nervously gnaw at my lip. What if I don't meet their expectations?
What if they think I'm not right for him?
What if they think I'm a gold digger?
All these thoughts spiral around my head and I can feel my stomach twisting as I follow my boyfriend of 8 months to the car. I get into the passenger seat and wait until Glen comes in.
"You've got everything?" Glen asks and I nod at him. He takes my hand and interlocks it with mine, kissing it. "Alright, let's get going then."
Glen starts the car and backs out of his driveway, his parents house isn't that far from his so it will take us under an hour to get there but that's more than enough time for me to jump out of the car and run.
"Now, my dad can be a bit weird some times and my mom can be a bit overbearing but it's just because they adore you. They've wanted to meet you since our first date." Glen says as he drives.
"Wait what?! Our first date?"
Glen laughs at my reaction as he nods.
"Yeah, I called my parents right after and I told them all about you and how our reservation closed up and we had to go to a Mcdonald's for food despite how dressed up we were."
"Oh god, that was probably the best night of my life." I chuckle, feeling the nervousness fade away.
* . * . *
"Hi, Ma." Glen smiles as his mom gives him a big hug. His dad is next. "Hi, Dad."
"Oh, you are so beautiful." Glen's mother, Cyndy says as she gives me a hug as well, I hug her back happily.
"Oh thank you, it's so great to finally meet the two of you." I smile as I pull away. Glen's dad, Glen Sr shakes my hand too. "You've done a great job raising your son."
"Oh, honey, you're a real sweetie." Cyndy says, pulling my cheek a bit. "Come on in, you guys can go get fresh in Glen's room. I'll get dinner all ready."
"Thanks, Ma."
Glen takes my right hand in his left as he carries our suitcase up the stairs. We turn a right and his door is marked with "Glen's room" in big blue letters with glitter on it.
He opens the door and my eyes widen at
how cute his room is and how it really is the embodiment of Glen. The room was incredibly spacious, the bed was right in front of the door, the TV to the door's left with an accompanying beanbag, the wall to our left was covered in bookshelves containing his comic books and his legos. There was a small window in the middle of the wall but bookshelves were built around it. Glen rolls the suitcase to a side and sits on the foot of his bed.
"Ohh, this room is so cute, baby." I smile as I step in and Glen sits down on his bed, his back against the headboard. "Aww look, is that you and your sisters?"
I point at the photo framed on the corner of his desk with him and his sister. The frame is covered in stickers and glitter too.
"Yeah, they made that for me for my 10th birthday." Glen chuckles as he opens his arms for me to go lay in.
"Noo, I'm not falling for that trap. I'm gonna fall asleep and I want to help your mom with dinner." I say, my hands on my hips.
"Finee." Glen groans like a child. "Let's get out of these clothes though."
I search through my suitcase and find a pair of trousers and a shirt to wear. Glen wears his favourite basketball shorts and wears his navy blue shirt which highlights his physique.
I tie up my hair with a claw clip and washing my face with a wet wipe, getting all the muck and grim off my face.
"You feel like having a bath?" Glen asks, his arms around my waist, his chin on my right shoulder.
"After dinner, baby. I do want to make a good impression on your parents." I say, my hands on his.
"My mom loves you already and so does my dad. There's no reason they wouldn't like you. You make me happy and that's more than enough for them." He says, kissing my shoulder.
"I know but still, it's the polite thing to do so I need you to keep your hands to yourself, okay?" I laugh, pushing his hands off me as I leave his room.
He walks behind me as we go down the stairs and head to the kitchen. Cyndy is stirring and mixing different things around the kitchen.
Glen kisses the side of my head before sitting down beside his dad in front of the TV. I walk towards Cyndy, offering my help and start doing stuff around the kitchen too.
"He's so lucky to have you." Cyndy says, pulling my cheek.
"Thank you, Cyndy."
