Emily POV
I was trying not to bang my head against the desk. Why? Math. I'm in class, learning about place values. I know. Look. I'm not the best at math, but seriously? Place values? Shouldn't we already know this?
"I want to kill myself." I muttered, gripping my pencil. The teacher doesn't even care what we're doing. I thought, seeing other kids either quietly bonking their heads against their desks or goofing off. So that technically means that I can do whatever I want too... right?
I decided that I was going to draw Jax throwing a knife at Ragatha, because why not. I literally just drew a circle and heard someone screaming my name.
"EMILY!" I jumped and let out a short scream as I looked up to face my teacher. Dammit... now everyone's laughing at me...
"Yes, miss?" I said quietly as I tried (and failed) to shrink myself. I could feel everyone's eyes on me, either looking worried or just trying not to laugh.
The teacher glared at me. "Why are you not paying attention? I'm out here, trying so hard to teach you guys and what do I get? Disrespect. You probably think it's so easy to teach a class, don't you?"
"Sorry miss." I slid farther down my seat. Everyone else was doing worse than me. Why the fuck do you always have to pick on me? Little bitch. I want to fucking stab her. "I won't do it again."
"Good." The teacher stopped glaring at me and looked around. "Because Emily was so disrespectful, everyone here now has lunch detention! And little miss Emily here has a week of lunch detention. How you like that, hm?" She looked at me with a smug smile. That fucking bitch. I was drawing, and she calls that disrespectful? How the fuck is drawing disrespectful? Fucking asshole. She's a crappy teacher. Fuck you.
"...Sorry miss." I said, silently making threats to her. If I could, then I would say everything I'm thinking out loud so she can hear just what I think of her. But, if I did that, I would probably get expelled...
After what felt like years, we were finally let out for recess. Me and my best friend, Hannah (who had short black hair, brown eyes, and was also Japanese), were sitting at a table that we conveniently had outside next to our classroom.
"So..." She said, leaning against the wall. "Don't you think your... obsession... with The Amazing Digital Circus has gone a bit too far?:
I whipped my head around to look at her, hurting my neck in the process. "First of all, ow, my neck, and second of all, I don't have an 'obsession' with The Amazing Digital Circus. I like it, that's all."
She scoffed. "Yeah right. 少しこだわりすぎていることは否定できません. You constantly talk about it, ファンソングを歌って、どういうわけか私を好きにさせさえしました. There's a limit to how much you can like something before it turns into an obsession." (translation in the comments)
I paused, taking in her words before answering. "You know, 私はあなたの良い点を指摘するやり方が嫌いになることがあります."
"See?" Hannah smirked at me. "I'm always right."
I playfully glared at her while giving her both my middle fingers (when the duty teacher wasn't looking, of course).
"ファックユー."
