I'm sorry I can't decide if I'm full rage Hazbin and Helluva or Digital Circus.

Help.

"Em, you know how you love The Amazing Digital Circus? And you know how I have a VR headset? Well, they just released a new VR game, The Amazing Digital Circus!" Hannah said. I was currently on a FaceTime call with her on my iPad. "I knew you'd like it and a lot of people said it was pretty fun, so I got the game! Wanna try it out tomorrow? ...If you're mom lets you."

I sighed. "I can ask, but I'm pretty sure she'll say no. Like a 80% chance of no. I'll try anyways. I'll be right back." I put my microphone on mute and asked my mom. Surprisingly, she actually said yes!

"She said yes!" I was practically bouncing off the walls in excitement.

"Really?" Hannah asked, also excited. "Are you available at 4 PM tomorrow?" I said yes and we made plans for tomorrow, also double checking that both our parents knew and agreed. The plan was that I would be sent to Hannah's house at 4:00, then I would stay until 6:00 and my parents would pick me up.

I couldn't fall asleep until 1:00 in the morning because of how excited I was.

The next day...

I arrived at Hannah's house and we immediately started causing chaos. Pillow fights, arguing with her older sister, and finally... the VR headset.

"Have you played the game yet?" I asked Hannah. I was literally bouncing up and down, fighting every fiber in my body not to grab the headset and start playing immediately.

Hannah laughed. "Yeah, I've played it. The reviews weren't lying, it's actually really fun. It's super realistic too." She playfully shoved me. "C'mon, try it already!"

"Alright, alright!" I set the game to The Amazing Digital Circus before putting it on.

The screen was black.

"Uh, Han? You sure this works?" No response. Weird. Maybe she's just preparing to scare the shit outta me once I take the headset off.

Those fanfictions I read about people playing the Digital Circus game aren't real.

...Right?

-linebreak-

The screen lit up again, showcasing the Digital Circus.

"Wow," I said, "This is pretty cool. And realistic too." I felt something staring at me, so I turned around and saw...

...a close up of Caine that I did not need to see.

I screamed, and the screen went dark again.
